Hello everyone. I have a 2009 black Scuderia. Does anyone know of a place in Southern California that can restore the faded carbon fiber engine panels? I am thinking about keeping it as it only has 14500 miles. I believe they will continue to go up in value. I appreciate any advice.

These were covered in a recall once upon a time. If you'd like to use the same vendor as the FNA dealers, I'd give them a call. The new finish is heat+uv resistant and won't fade.

My Ferrari dealer (Houston) took care of the yellowish / faded engine carbon under the extended warranty that I purchased. This was several years ago. They did a great job so the dealer in California might be able to do the same.

A skilled body shop can correct it. Sand down the finish and respray a clear coat.
Flea7 did this himself on some Scuderia engine bay panels he obtained that were very milky, they turned out great.

Mine are still good, but my air boxes are looking like yours...they have a slight yellow tinge to the clear?

Or just polish and ceramic coat. Faded and turning yellow are two different issues. Faded can be brought back to life.

All my carbon fiber was replaced under warranty. The heat had burned large patches or faded the cf. Part of the recall was putting in larger heat shields so it doesn't happen again. If you replace your c/f, make sure you have the larger heat shields.

Mine is a mid 2009 production, so probably why I never had an issue....I've noticed it is more common on 2008s when I was shopping years ago.

This is inaccurate, many 09s late or early, had issues.

Many, like mine which is a late 09, fortunately were isolated to only a few panels. Mine specifically was isolated to just one of the smaller most rearward panels, everything else was fine but I had the dealership refinish everything anyways. Zero issues since and this was a decade ago.

The dead giveaway for 08s was almost always the oil coolant cover.

Thank you everyone for their input. Do you guys know how much they would charge? I doubt the dealer would cover it on a 2009 car

I think the issue is random. Early 08 w/ 26k mi in pic attached. Only issue is the air boxes, which is really the most common for whatever reason. No clear coat or ceramic coat either. Not even a polish. Completely stock.

I know that 2008 and 2009 scuderia both have the issue

Depending on how and where car is used coolant tops airboxes, area above headers and (if recall not done) area above exhaust pipes coming from muffler

Yellowing is caused by UV light and milky is heat

When you have them done use a UV resist epoxy

I have seen even some of the best paint shops use a clear coat after sanding and milky appearance came back real quick

My left panel had heat damage ..big white area. I had to sand the whole panel down to carbon. Used a sanding gun but a lot was wet handsanding. You can't avoid it due to the areas around the vents. You have to be careful when you start to hit carbon.
I used my Sata gun and cleared with 3 coats of PPG Deltron clear.
Then sanded the whole panel down with 2k sandpaper and polished with Menzerna.......Waxed with Pinnacle carnauba wax.

From this picture...they don't look bad. Maybe a fine sanding and polish?....but it looks like the airbox are yellowing.
