....another shot from Maserati: The new GranTurismo. Seem to become a little smaller than the old one! But designwise I think it looks too close than the V8. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cleaned up the photos a little. Looks like a GranTurismo with a shortened tail and nose. I bet the tail lights are like the MC20 and the front might also follow the MC20. Better than the old one as long as it has a V8. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
They’ve only mentioned the BEV in the press release .. so who knows if there’ll be an ICE option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Somebody said it would have ICE. 2 door EV Maserati sportscar might as well be bolted to the showroom floor. Would do alot better if it was a 4 door model.
my understanding is it will be Maserati’s 1st fully electric car yes, lots of politically correct reasons to promote it that way. However it probably will offer some type of ICE propulsion with electric assist Hybrid. The cost to develop the car is too great to limit its sales to only electric power, which for all the praising by the media, government etc is not embraced by the consumers. Their ROI would take forever if they limit its sales to EV only. If I was still ordering cars for stock, I would only order an EV if I was forced too in order to get the models I wanted. Outside of Teslas in the Land of Fruits and Nuts, EVs are nailed to the Showroom Floor.
Another photo released by Maserati. The prototype has a tailpipe and if Maserati has any brains left the production model will be available with one too along with the EV!! Looks more like the old GT in this photo. Only liked the front on the old GT. I thought it was to big in the rear end and to heavy. Trying to add 500lbs and keep the 4.2 motors in 2007 was a joke. Why hasn't someone done a rendering of what they think it looks like without all the camo? Doesn't look a whole lot different from current car with the camo.
Found these renderings, they admit the hood isn’t reflecting the bulge in the camo pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2023-maserati-granturismo-rendering-previews-what-should-be-a-lovable-discount-ferrari-170460.html
Looks like this what Maserati now thinks is good wheel design, similar to MC20. As for the car itself looks like one of the original design proposals which they discarded and went with the really nice looking one instead.
Will buyers want a silent maserati as sound has been their most distinguishing feature past 15 years? Especially in mc20?
It’s a 1200hp 2door 4 seater coupe, I think they’ll be okay with the lack of noise. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/electric/maserati-granturismo-returning-1200hp-ev Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Their most distinguishing feature since the Ghibli and Levante has been to say that you have a Maserati. That's what drives their sales. If they relied only on the GranTurismo (which is ancient by now) and the Quattroporte they'd probably be bankrupt. And this is a company that always likes to be close to bankruptcy.
Seeds of change…I’d rather be able to drive in an electric engineered Maserati than not…I’ll take gear “whine” and electrical mechanical feedback over combustion exhaust if that’s where “we” are going anyway. Give me Maserati (in any form) or give me death! Remember, torque “pull” and handling are what “pushes” us overall. The combustion “sound” is intoxicating, but “the times, they are a changing”! let’s move forward, rather than reflect on the past. Imagine a Maserati “hybrid” that would deliver 50+ MPG…..coming sooner than you might expect!
Really dont see mpg being an advantage for $100k sports cars that only get driven few thousand miles per year.
I hope it does not look like that. Not that it looks ugly but that looks like a facelifted granturismo which we have had for the past 15 years.. Also the Granturismo without V8 sound has 0 interest when compared to a Porsche or even a BMW 6er or Merc SL.
