Yup, while everyone was mulling around wondering what was going to happen, Sky announced “Lewis has been told they will restart the race”. Precious.
I’m heading that way after following F1 since the mid-70s. It’s only matter of time before F1 and FE merge.
Why is it Pirelli fault if drivers are trying to get the fastest lap with tyres over the expected age?
There was a time when races stopped under Red Flag were not restarted if more than 2/3 of the distance had already been covered. They must have changed the rules then. Restarting a race for 3 laps doesn't make much sense to me. Apparently the "Nurburgring 24 Hours" this weekend have been suspended for more than 8 hours, if that is a consolation.
The tire regulations are crap no matter who gets screwed by them; a complete artifice that has created the World Tire Manager Championship.
So, you’re saying Lewis caused Max’s tire failure? Max comes in with the WDC lead, winning 2 of the 5 previous and leading in the 6th before misfortune strikes, and this is about F1 conspiring for Hamilton? We have a great battle forming this season with 16 of 22 races remaining. The Merc is not a dominant car (Bottas behind Latifi in 14th, Hamilton behind Perez), so I don’t get the “more of the same” comments...sit back and enjoy
