My 2012 FF with 47k miles was making a sound in the rear on the freeway like a whooping noise. I needed to replace the hub carrier. Has anyone else had there's go out? The powertrain warranty wouldn't cover it. It is considered a wearable part

My 2011 FF with 20k miles occasionally makes a similar noise to what you’re describing. It’s definitely dependent on road speed so I suspect I may be in the queue for a hub carrier at some point too. Please let us know how you get on and what the cost is to replace it.

And once again, the NP warranty comes up short :(

I use a non-standard summer wheel setup but the noise pre-dates the new wheels and it actually got quieter when I put the new wheels on!

I haven't picked the car up yet, so not sure what the labor is. I did order the part from Scuderia Car Parts in England. The hub carrier was a little over $1900 with taxes and shipping.
