    Its been discussed before and as usual no one agrees.
    A lot of auction houses have different commissions etc.
    Possible better to ask what did the purchaser have to pay to own the car.

    Right, “hammer” means the final price auctioneer calls when hitting the gavel, also referred as “hammer” down and says “Sold !”
    It does not include any commission fees, etc.
