    Honda F1 trivia:

The last time Honda led in the constructors was back in 1991 with Mclaren.

Fast forward to today 30 years later.

I'm not a Sainz fan, I'm calling out your hypocrisy for being upset that Lewis threw his team under the bus whilst you repeatedly threw your team's other driver under the bus, the driver who still accomplished putting Ferrari on the podium (2nd no less) when Charles unfortunately lost the opportunity.

All in all, Ferrari got exactly what Ferrari was hoping for, except with Sainz instead of Charles. The car is on the podium.

But hey, keep throwing emotional fits on the internet even when your team wins lol.

Edit* With the amount of discussions on this forum that discuss a Mercedes driver more than Ferrari, this might as well be Mercedeschat.

Unlike a transmission, drive shafts are replaceable without penalty.

That is only gamble on parts for which you take penalties..........

Honda? Aren't they packing up at the end of this year? In future it will be Red Bull Power, or whatever they call it.

I can't believe all the components in the rear suspension and the transmission haven't been thoroughly checked as a matter of routine after a shunt.

Binotto yesterday was taking about "gambling" on the gearbox!!! WTF !!!

Good job the Scuderia isn't in the airline business !!

No, Ferrari didn't get what was hoping for, they were hoping for a win, something that most probably Charles would have achieved, something Carlos was never near to do. He's doing all right, but to me he's just another boring driver....he was before, and dressing in red didn't change it.

They literally are NOT in the airline business and moreover they were working under parc fermé rules which allows only minor adjustments and repairs to damaged parts. And the part that failed wasn’t visibly damaged.

They were actually quite honest in that winning would be difficult because of Max. The fact Carlos was still able to finish 2nd is likely a satisfied outcome for the team at the end of the day given that Max quite likely would have overtaken Charles at some point b/c of the stronger car.

His 2nd outlap was. First one definitely was not. Even Vettel's outlap was faster. Gasly's inlap was 3 tenths faster than Lewis, his outlap half a second slower. Vettel's inlap was a full second (!) faster than Lewis and 2 tenths faster outlap. But, the outlap also contains the pitstop time and Lewis had 5th fastest pitstop time of everyone, whereas Gasly one of the slowest (a full 6 tenths slower than Lewis) and Vettel was also 6 tenths slower pitstop than Lewis.

So no, definitely not Lewis' best work.
Classy. Calling someone mentally retarded is a new low for you.

Yep...the problem was only so many tests can be done. The big test (putting load through it) wasn't allowed until the pitlane opens...and the inevitable happened. Apparently max suffered the exact same a few years prior, visually it all checked out yet the moment they put load on the gearbox it fell apart.

I'm not sure what team can do to work this, perhaps a rig that puts load on the necessary parts? Not even sure if that's allowed though.

It's a pretty well known fact that winning in today's F1 is heavily dependent on the car. (ie Russell)
Hamilton is one of the best drivers ever but I don't think it would be a stretch to say he wouldn't be a 7 time champion without superior machinery to the other competitors.

That said, shouldn't he have the team's back rather than moaning whenever things go astray? I can't see Bono berating him if he exceeds track limits and gets penalized....."What just happened? C'mon Lewis, how are you still messing up that corner?"

Humility and not entitlement is the true measure of a great person.
