I'm thinking seriously of registering & entering the Targa Florio in Victoria this year in the Maserati Sebring, has anyone done this event before or even perhaps entered for this year.

It looks like a great event & leads right into the Australian GP weekend.

It's based on & sanctioned by the original Italian Targa Florio which has been held nearly every year in Sicily since 1906.

    Right.

I think you'll find it pretty much similar...unless it's a TTas run event.

OK so after having a 10 second look at 'the stages' it's exactly the same as the event I did up here twice.
There is no performance involved only these strange getting from A to B in the most average time possible.
The 'stages' can range from a couple of hundred yards to klm's......it deadset is as boring as watching paint dry...sorry Pete.

You'll have a much better time using your entry fee on coming on a/the GG and GAD!

PS just a thought,it's like a reeeeeeeaaally slow version of the TTas TSD..Time Speed Distance.

Thanks Simon I knew it was that type of event, its the timing of the event that suits being in November & leading right into the Aus GP the next day. I'll be at GAD next time for sure & GG this year if I can get a leave pass given my trip to Hamilton Island Race week, which is a 10-11 day event that I'm away on only a couple of weeks after the GG...I'm working on the Brownie points ;).

I'd say a very good chance there won't be an Aussie GP this year.
I understand that Liberty Media have told the organisers the event won't come to Australia if there are still quarantine requirements for international travellers to Australia. Considering the Australian government is talking about opening the borders in mid 2022, I think a special concession for the GP is highly unlikley .
The decison to "go" has to be made by no later than mid September to allow 2 months to build the circuit.
