I just saw this image of this beautiful 330 GT Customized but I couldn't find any information or more photos, does anyone know about it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like a series 1 330. It’s interesting that the Ferrari community has for the most part rejected these projects while the Porsche community has embraced them.
It is a series 2 model (rear view mirror and lack of fuel filler on RH side), but I don't know the S/N. Never seen the car before.
There is a much bigger pool of 911’s to work with than there are Ferraris, plus the factory through its Classiche programme is actively discouraging modification. Porsche on the other hand has actually opened its own customisation department for the older cars.
I believe it also comes from the Flat 4 culture (Cox, Karman etc...). Porsche has made a very recent move (last week) for their own customisation services cars after having legally threatened most of the restomod established companies such as Singer. As for Ferraris, can't think of a true restomod apart from the two horrible 250SWB inspired cars by RML & GTO Engineering that have been released recently. On the other hand, the 80s tuned cars by Koenig, Straman etc... seem to have a real come back today in auctions.
ERA, if you are on Instagram, look up automobili.maggiore for their restomod of a 308GTS. I think it may be a one-off, not sure.
