Apparently my F8 will arrive soon so dealer called me to put my 488 for sale.

Now, all of a sudden I wonder if I won't miss it !?!

Any F8 owners that had a 488 regret?

Having tested the F8 I elected to keep the 488, but there is no doubt for me the F8 is the better car - money-no-object I'd gone for one without hesitation: better engine, better steering wheel, better overall package... The trade-in price of the 488 made it the best value for money for me as I could not stomach getting the F8 for double the price of the 488, in the end I preferred keeping the 488 and adding another Ferrari rather than swapping.

I think the decision is harder with the 458. I’m keeping mine after taking delivery of the F8. Both are spiders but I think they’ll be sufficiently different as drivers.

This exactly what i intend to do. The F8 is a decent upgrade over my 488 but not at nearly double the price.

It is pretty incredible and sad to see people getting offered that little from the dealers for their 488’s that it’s costing nearly double for a F8. The dealers are selling those 488’s for within $50-80k of MSRP of a very well optioned F8 if we are talking about Spiders. Guess the profit is very strong for them right now.

I traded my 2018 488 spider 12k miles and ~100k for my F8 spider. Nowhere close to twice the price in January. I believe I would get 10-20k more now for my trade. Any used 488 spider is a hot commodity at the moment.

I believe you will miss the sound but i hope you are ready for the rude shock at what your dealer will buy your 488 for.

Good luck on your F8 !!!

In my neck of the woods I haven't ever seen a Maclaren or Lamborghini near me or going in the same direction. Frankly hardly ever see a Porsche either. So yes the F8 is faster but so ?

The 488 GTB is plenty fast

Its funny seeing Jap cars 4 cylinders leaving 458 in the dust however. That is demeaning .

I personally think everyone would upgrade to the F8 if it wasnt such a high change over. I frankly have no desire to give my government another $200,000 in tax.

Due to very short used and new inventory, any dealer should offer 10-20% more than what they offered 6 or 8weeks ago

Im seeing 488's going up because as dealer start putting F8's for sale with their high prices the delta was way too big to make the F8 look attractive.

    Take this one.

Mind you this is a demo car that has been thrashed on the track

I know some that cried when they traded their 2018 in for their Pista's only receiving high 300's for their 5 - 8 km cars. Basically the Pista was Double the cost.

Now at least there in the high 400's and even in the 500's

Might not be double but certainly around 200 k down here. Worth the upgrade especially if you bought new and customized it to your liking ? No.

Lets see what happens to 488 prices once LB electric is revealed.

The F8 is superior to the 488 on every level of performance and aesthetically. However, it is not $200000 better. $100000- Yes.

It’s all relative. Market is crazy but if (when) inflation hits, it’s going to be bad.

So strong a market I put my manual 430 up for sale.

We’ll see. Cheap money makes people less rational. Like drugs.

I'm in the apparent minority who don't prefer the appearance of the F8. I'm sure it's a step up over the 488 but I can't get anywhere near the limits in my car, so doubt there would be an appreciable difference for my usage (other than a thinner wheel with better turn signals). So I'm not seriously considering one - would rather add an 812 eventually, then maybe swap the 488 for a Pista (love the look of that).

I parked at a cafe the other day and an F8 Spider came along and parked right next to me. My views on aesthetics were only entrenched further, but each to their own!

Great pic comparison. The 488 looks much closer in design to the 458 and a slight bit dated, not in a bad way.

It took me a while, but I appreciate the lower, more aggressive stance of the F8. This, coupled with my driving experience reinforces my belief that I’ve made a great selection. It’s an agonizing wait, but worth it when I see pics like this.

To me the F8 looks way more modern and exotic than the 458 or 488. But to each their own!

Netted $262 after consignment fees for my 2018 GTB with 6,400 miles and an MSRP of $306. Contrast my order for a 2022 F8 Tributo with an MSRP of $356. So for me at least the delta of ~$100 held true.
