The driver's side seat (this is a right hand drive car) seems to have become stuck in the rearmost position, and despite my best efforts will not slide forward. Lifting the guide control fork (as it is described in the parts manual) doesn't release the seat. I can see the two front screws holding the guide rails, but as the seat doesn't move forward I can't get to the two rearmost ones. Any ideas?

Not sure if you tried this but sit in seat
Pull up on bar and grab steering wheel and pull forward
Mine got stuck one time and this worked
You can not get enough leverage without sitting in the seat

Thanks Taz. I've tried that, but I'll certainly give it another go with a bit more effort

This may or may not help, but I replaced my seats with 355 ones and had the same problem. I was able to go down a gap between the seat squab and the side bolsters and press down on a shiny metal lever (each side) that lifted the mechanism and released the seat. I know my original 348 seats you wouldn't be able to do this, but some I think you can..

IF all else fails, remove the bottom panels, and from the bottom drill out the two bolts you cannot see.

Have you ever had to do that Mitchell
And if you did what was the root cause?

I had to to that on a 328 once. The seat was frozen because of old grease and bearings. I almost had to do that on a 355 Spider because the motor drive cable was pulled out and the seat did not move back or forth (Spider has different seats than the manual Berlinetta seats).
