Thank you! I did it myself, filled up the cavities with body filler, sand it down, and I’ve used the fine small paint brush, good thing I still have about half a pint of the Rosso Rossa paint from when I had my front spoiler repaired by a body shop two years ago. I know Mark specially now that my car is much lower than before, I do scrape it every time I back up out of the driveway, good thing I have the scrape guard/plate under there. But yes, definitely I have to watch out for any speed bumps, uneven roads, potholes, and going in and out of every driveway like gas stations, parking lots, etc...
Welcome to my life !! Spending every second behind the wheel assessing each driveway, crossover, speed hump, petrol station entry, car park entry, garage entrance, etc, etc to see if the bloody front spoiler is going to scrape. ... and that's on a 328 !!
All 20 wheel bolts back from Chroming company. Not heard of folk doing this before, hope I've done the right thing? But at £3.00 (GBP) a bolt its a bargain compared to the cost of replacements! Image Unavailable, Please Login
And they know about passivating/hydrogen embrittlement right? Just want to make sure that you are safe.
I installed new roof pins. Our temps got down to 0 degree F and the rubber quire literally fell off of the pins. They look so nice now.
Hey Andrew, Congratulations on the super clean Smog Test. Curious, what OEM catalytic converter did you buy? Ferrari brand or other after-market vendor? Did the new cats make a significant difference in your emissions? I have an 1983 QV which has the two original catalytic converters. Mine passes, but barely! lem321
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Posted this on a different thread related to adjusting a steering wheel, but wanted to post it here as well. I found this NOS Momo Prototipo 320MM flat race wheel that has never been installed on a car! It’s approximately 50 years old. This in addition to a eccentric wheel adapter will significantly increased the leg room in a 308. Should have done this years ago.
Over the past week, Posed with the Austin, TX showing of the 308M on Sunday Image Unavailable, Please Login then spent the week swapping the radiator to get rid of the small leak Image Unavailable, Please Login and put in the MACarbon front bumper supports to push in the US bumper. Checked fluids, tire pressure, tighten hose clamps, checked lug nuts, put together a toolbox, got a fire extinguisher. Then a good wash and wax on, wax off. Then: Went on a 153 mile rally in my 1978 308 GTS today! What a great time! It was 200 miles all together adding in miles to and from home. Man, she drove great. All the other cars were post 2000, so she was also the belle of the ball. There was a beautiful 1972 Daytona there too. Just wow!
Got her back from the shop with a rebuilt water pump. She was running hot in slow moving traffic. Nothing I haven't seen before except outside temps were mid 80's, not the upcoming 90's so I got pre-emptive: Swapped out 1/2 gal of 50-50 antifreeze in the overflow with straight distilled water. That usually helps her. Today, 80's again...solid at the 1/2 way point. Water wetter never has made much of a difference for me so I'll probably forgo it this time.
In the last week: -detailed the car (clay, color correction, polish and wax) -installed a new battery and painted the battery cover satin black -replaced long-gone foam under the front bonnet (over the radiator and spare tire compartment) Next week: -fix the heater fan(s) rolling around in front!

Taxi service… take wife to Polo Ralph Lauren I also drive to local 328 owner’s home to fix his fuel pump not running issue. Poor connection to relay fixed. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I removed my deep valence and replaced it with a shallow one so I can repair the deep one. Also, to make driving in Chicago a little less worrisome. I also made inner fender liners so that I wouldn’t have to bend my originals. Reinforced the rather fragile plastic "ears" on the heater fans using the two methods recommended by other F-chatters (thanks guys!): 1) fabricated, rather crudely, a sheet metal "arc" and 2) added a Simpson strap (<$1 from Home Depot) which anchors the motor to the frame. Replaced the foam around the radiator using 2" x 1" foam sourced from Amazon. Although the foam comes adhesive-backed, I didn't mount with the adhesive but the foam was basically "stuffed" into the gap between the radiator and the surroundings (left, right and bottom). The radiator was not removed. Forms a pretty tidy seal. A couple of hints: be careful where the bolts (securing the sheet metal to the fan) are mounted as clearance to the frame is tight. Also, ensure that the width of the new "ears" are no wider than the original as the space is again tight.
After some ignition issues with the XDI ignition and after consulting Nick @ Forza. ( btw, it is true, Nick does respond very quick!) I changed powersupply and took the car for a testrun Did 75 mile without a sungle issue. Pretty save to say thatt the problem is solved. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Previous owner must have overtightened the oil drain plug, when I removed it the threads stripped. I machined a threaded insert and used high temp loctite, will install tomorrow. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
