That vid is from 2013. The guy talking says it's a '78 - probably either old fuel lines on the carbs or the big equalization/vent line failed. Change your hoses with quality hoses boys and girls.
Every one of my 308’s got Scuderia Rampante (Dave Helms) fuel lines installed before it moved 500 yards after I took possession. Don’t care if they are orange, don’t care if they’re expensive, don’t care if some think I’m a fool for over paying. I never want to be “THAT GUY”. Old video or not, it’s still hurt to watch this morning. Thanks for the reminder Mike.
This is why I keep a large Halon fire extinguisher in my 308. Replaced all fuel hoses to latest ethanol rated cloth covered hoses (Germany)
No idea. I'm sure there are a lot of similarities around the hoses around the tanks. But - totally different around the fuel delivery.
On a QV. watch for the upper and lower hoses between the tanks. They use rubber couplers that can leak. Also, line between tank and fuel pump. US cars may have additional vapor and other critical emission hoses that could leak fuel.
On my '81, the plastic fuel lines etween the FD and the injectors were flame-throwers in waiting. I SAW and FELT NO Irregularities but after I removed them, there are about 12 lines total, I found 8 SERIOUS CRACKS in them. IF yours have not been replaced, I would certainly do so. REMEMBER: Removing a fuel line from a manifold mounted injector is a TWO WRENCH Job!!! Ignore THAT at your wallet's peril.
Someones welcome to correct me on this but I'm pretty sure the car in this video became the Tesla Powered 308: https://www.topspeed.com/cars/ferrari/1978-ferrari-308-gts-by-electric-gt-ar173191.html
