Looking for a good independant Ferrari Mechanic

Why would a shop install parts that they can’t vouch for?
It’s their reputation on the line.

Is European Exotic Center too far? I haven't needed anything major yet, but I've been happy with them. I know a lot of other FChatters get their cars serviced there (do a forum search for "gabe european exotic")

 

Renn Haus in Sarasota is mainly a German repair place, but they do work on Ferraris, so you may want to inquire. www.rennhaus.com

 

Unfortunately this is not just a Ferrari thing, even on my E350 Wagon I had this problem. I wanted motor/tranny mounts replaced and bought my own parts because I got a big discount. (OEM parts from the dealer) I took the car and parts to a euro repair shop and they told me sorry their policy they do not use any parts on cars unless it comes from them. It was very annoying, ultimately they did accept it for that one time because I was a recurring customer and showed them proof or purchase from MB, but still was a hassle.

I hope Ferrari independents are more open to this given the lack of available parts and acquisition times for older cars.

 

There's Speed Works in Osteen by Sanford. Bill Fulkrod owns the shop. Excellent mechanic and he supports about 5 or so Challenge cars as well. I take my BBi to him for the things I'm unable to do and I'm 2 hours south.

In my experince the street car shops and race shops have different priorities and diciplines. A shop that can marry both is A+

I had an independent auto repair shop for 10 years. I would not install customer supplied parts. I made more money on parts than I did labor so I had no interest in it.

 

I understand they are completely reliable great reputation on the Tampa Bay area. Owner Gabe has many years Ferrari experience former service manager at Ferrari Tampa Bay.

Just posted this in another thread as I went over there the other day to look at their new place...
I dropped by European Exotic Center's new facility in Tampa last weekend. Nice place, and Gabe the master mechanic is well trusted. Apparently all cars are kept inside the building during their stay there.
