My first draft spec for my incoming GTS had the rear bumper sides ($5000), under door covers ($10,000), and front spoiler ($4,000) all in carbon fiber. But after all the options started piling up, I decided that $19,000 for exterior carbon was too much. I am now thinking about just doing the rear bumper sides, because they still look pretty cool, but I’m not sure if they will look strange in carbon with the rest of the exterior bits being matte black plastic. Thoughts? (paint will be Rosso Fiorano)

My opinion is if you’re getting the rear bumper sides in carbon you should probably do the rest in carbon otherwise it looks incomplete.

Yep, all or nothing with exterior CF.

Bang for buck, a triple layer paint makes a big visual statement and depending on colour, overshadows the omission of CF.

If you have a smattering of CF inside, then the kick sills are a nice addition and define the start/end to my eyes.

Nothing, the car looks fine without carbon fiber doodles.

I have Blu Elettrico and can confirm the triple layer paint makes a statement. No exterior CF and I really don’t miss it.

Your comment about the CF kick sills is a good one.

Blu Elettrico is such a v12 colour, this is the rear of my one!

Great color btw, no one will notice the carbon unless they are up close.

I did the front bumper insert and rear bumpers on my 812. Wish I did the other bits as well, but since the GTS doesn't offer a painted diffuser, maybe just that and front bumper?

There’s a third option: ask to have them painted either matching or Nero/Nero Daytona. It’ll be cheaper than CF but will look better than the plastic

After reading the responses to my original post, I’m thinking my first gut feeling was correct and just doing the bumper sides in carbon will look mismatched. I really like the little pop of carbon that I get from the side air intakes on my F8, but those don’t really clash with anything. The carbon kick sills seem like a good idea, and I’ll seriously consider those

Outside all on nothing and the cost benefit ratio is against doing it all unless you REALLY want carbon.
On the inside you can pick and choose
On my 812S have everything inside and love it but my GTS has none other than the steering wheel driver zone and don’t miss it at all- go figure
