Some differences I see from the previous version. Mounting bracket simplified (reduced weight). Exhaust tips are different. I guess I’ll be the first in the world with their new version :).

Even the muffler box shape looks slightly different, but that could just be the shielding distorting shape.

Exhaust pipe bends are different as well. Interesting. Might not even be the same muffler

Frankly, I don't like the arrangement of the mounting brackets on the one on the left. Most of the wright will be carried by the rods welded to the exhaust tubes placing stress on the welds of the tubes to the muffler housing. Additionally, the triangulation of the lower and upper rods will tend to make the muffler want to drupe over time and push the upper rods into the muffler body.

The one on the right is superior mechanically.

Structurally, I’m no expert but I’m lovin’ the new elegant touch.

I like both versions. That shielding looks very nicely done.

I’d be keen on that due to the heatshield benefits alone. Not keen on the wait time though.

I'd just send whatever you want shielded to Thermo-Met and call it a day.

Got an email from them a few weeks ago regarding Capristo comparisons.

"Yes I read your feedback at the time and its very interesting.

I actually went out in a car (2.7) with Capristo 2 on the other day and agree with your statement. It is very good high up, but low down it left me wanting more!

Credit to them, that high end sounds is great, but yeah where the noise up till 3500 rpm?!?

Always interesting to test other peoples products, I’ll look forward to your feedback on ours, which will be on the way shortly to you." - Larini

My take from that response is the Larini GT2 muffler is not as high pitched as a Capristo 2, but has more drama down low, which is actually what I was expecting. I was hoping it would be close up top, but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm actually excited they confirmed their muffler has more drama down low compared to a Capristo. Also hoping their headers adds more pitch vs OE headers as well. I honestly don't think they've ever tested their full system on a car. Pretty sure I'm the guinea pig here. I feel their headers were a design concept for the 355 and 430 and when TTForce and I ordered, it was an opportunity to make it a reality. They won't admit it, but I've been in this game long enough to know what's up :). Only reason why I'm letting them slide with the delays.

That's a hell of a misrepresentation, IMO. Like expecting a supermodel and getting ugly Betty. :(

I actually think reality turned out better in this case :). Only the header design is not even close to the CGI headers.

What matters most is how it sounds :). Can’t wait. They said headers are arriving in a week so we’ll see.

I liked the sound of that muffler when Ken did the videos of this exhaust and the different Capristos.

Supposedly they did a custom one for me tuned to my preferences. We’ll just have to see if there’s any truth to that.

So what, Larini is one guy working out of his garage? You've been waiting, going on a year and you get one side? Maybe shipped separately? I sure hope so.It does look nice but,

No. You're absolutely right. The initial eta was 1 month. It's more like 1 year. Larini strung TTForce and I along forever. They're fortunate I've been busy and all this stuff was actually planned for my black 355 when ordered. Now everything is going onto my newly acquired red 355, so it all sort of works out.... I think lol. Hard to recommend them because of long eta's. Buy something if they have it in stock.. or just leave a small deposit.

I still have to check fitment and see if the headers even gives me the power I want. Just from a glance, they look like Capristo 4-2-1 header layout for the F430, which I did notice power improvements in the low to mid-range on the Scud along with a nice increase in volume/aggressiveness. These are also advertised to have a primary step design ... i don't believe the Capristos did.
