Good turnout and participation this morning. They put my car, '99 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster, in between a McLaren P1 and a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. Ferrari-wise, there was a few 458s & 488s, 2 Pistas, a Speciale Aperta (my favorite), and what I think was an SF-90 (paper tags, so brand new).

The most numerous cars were the McLaren 570 series and Lamborghini Huracans...they must sell a ton of these. It was like going to cars and coffee years ago when you would see a half dozen 360/430 and Gallardos.

I guess the most surprising part was the lack of exotics made prior to 2010....think mine was the only one.

Well run show, no issues with the idiot faction revving their crappy cars to make trouble.

lamborghini has made more huracans than all other lamborghini models ever made altogether.....and then you wonder why you see them everywhere, all the time.
great car, but i would not want to see myself coming and going....

    similar story with the 570s.
    competent car.
zero chance of me owning it.

I get it, you are in the financial position where you aren’t going to be looking at entry level supercars.

I hope to be in a position to buy a new exotic for the first and only time in the next 4-5 years and would most likely be in the entry level market area. FWIW, I drove a Huracan last year and it was a lot of fun and sounds great.

Ross' assessment has nothing to do with his "financial position".

I’m sure it does to some degree. And it’s far from being an insult. Different models have different demographic targets. Marketing 101....

there are plenty of relatively affordable cars that i would consider buying - the $ value is not the deciding factor necessarily.
the lowest priced huracan i can see is about $180k.
the lowest price 570s i can see is about $150k.

    maybe that is entry level.....

but for that range, you can buy a scud, or a murci, both of which i would prefer.
or, for less than that you can get an mp4-12c, add 20k in updates, and beat the 570s and the huracan, and at least not see it everywhere.
or for even less, you can get a nice 430, and i see about 1 of those for every 10 huracans.

and the performance stats between any of these cars are meaningless in 90% of the circumstances you will encounter.

what i am getting at is that i dont want to drive something that is so ubiquitous.
    that is my personal preference.

Best option is to buy a one or two owner flagship model that is fifteen to twenty years old with updated service and records. I have always been a bottom feeder. Have a PPI performed by a marque specialist. If the model is known to be mechanically reliable you should be in a good position when and if you decide to move on.

Take into account production #'s and how much exposure the car had with car magazines etc... Did the car make the cover of several magazines? All the modern crap that is seven, eight or nine years old will continue to depreciate. Used car buyer's pay a premium for a manual box. I am sure you already know all of this.

Agreed, since my current “fleet”....LOL is a ‘99 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster and a ‘05 Ford GT. Buying a new entry level car in a few years will be a retirement gift to myself.

There is a Car Culture meet at 2800 Kirby (Shops at Arrive) on June 12th if anyone wants to show your car. Nice venue....
