Too expensive - my HK electric bill came with a breakdown of where the power came from and the cost of each component - the bit that came from Daya Bay nuclear was always the most expensive. And I wasn’t that fond of the late night government ads on TV of ‘what to do in case of an accident at Daya Bay’ - basically came down to ‘kiss your ass goodbye’...
Probably can’t grow anything usable within 5000acres of a coal fired generator either? Most wind farms have secondary stuff happening on the ground (eg dairy farms around Malanda)
These were all on farms. When construction is complete, the only land used will be the size of the base of the tower. Lots of new roads on the properties too instead of the goat tracks that were there before.
