Capristo has a twin sound plus cat delete. Believe iPE has cat delete pipes as well. I really loved the stock sound of the 599.
You would have ADORED the Fabspeed pipes. It takes that stock sound and amplifies it without changing the character of the sound. Next time around
Larini is by far and away the best quality I have seen both in real life and on a screen! Even better than Capristo! Then there's the sound.....
Yeah, saw the thread on it. That's why I started a different thread asking about Larini. Just looking to see if anyone here has experience with their cat delete solution.
Any good exhaust shop should be able to make a set in a couple hours, and it will be much cheaper than any of the available brands on the market. All straightpipes will sound the same. It's just a simple pipe with a kink. I didn't have the time to spend dealing with it though, so Fabspeed was an easy choice. Have you heard from Terry? Haven't seen him post in a while. Hope he's doing alright?
Update: The Larini pipes were beautiful (if a pipe and flange can be so) and installed in a jiff. Sound is similar to Fabspeed... Perhaps a bit more "low growly" below 2K rpm. Couldn't be happier. Recommend highly.
Reviving this thread, I also went with the Fabspeed pipes and I have to say, the car is improved. The cats where definitely constricting the exhaust and the car seems to rev more freely now. The valves open at 4k which might be the same as before but the sound is so much better. Yes it's louder, but the sound itself is better. I was told the cabin drone would be too loud on the highway, not true at all. I'm very pleased with this mod and consider it an upgrade.
I just recieved my Fabspeed pipes it took forever to get them since they are only made to order. I can't wait to put them on my car.
I just did the fabspeed cat delete on my 599, here are a few photos of the preinstall work. I paid 1295$ on ebay, and the pipes took around 4 weeks to be manufactured. Install - The tech left the friction fit section to soak in wd40 overnight and it slipped right off. Sound - There is a noticeable and pleasant rasp from the exhaust after the install. Not much noisier, but more of the type of sound we all seek. I didn’t disconnect the flaps on my car and the video is set to sport mode. Throttle - I would say the there’s a subtle difference in how the car picks up revs, it seems to rev with more immediacy and feels liberated, if that makes any sense? Its all subtle slight changes, but I feel that it is a worthwhile upgrade for the low cost. Power - I have seen dyno runs showing as much as 20 bhp increase, but that isn’t really noticeable on a +600 bhp car (3%). Weight - the cats are quite heavy, so there’s a negligible weight saving since the decat section weighs almost nothing. Final result - I made no other changes, and run stock everything. No warning lights nor issues for me. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep. I have them on my car and I can say they are great. OK, it is kind of loud if you are standing behind the car but in the car, even with the windows down, it isn't too loud. AND, I don't get any nasty looks driving through town so it can't be bad when running along reasonably.
About a 20bhp rear wheel gain. I didn’t do a dyno run, this was from another source. Image Unavailable, Please Login
