i enquire about that HK car on an other post and I got a nice reply = https://www.classicinsider.com/single-post/599gtb6speed Thanks @Wingzero
Video of #162945 made by gallery aaldering, enjoy! Note that at 2:56, Mr. Aaldering said he covered 100000 km in the car, but the car was advertised in the 60k range. Could it be just a typo, and typed km instead of miles in the advertisement? L.L.
Mr Aaldering sometimes exaggerate a little. However he is a nice guy. Verstuurd vanaf mijn J9210 met Tapatalk
100.000 But the car was for sale with about 60.xxx kilometers Verstuurd vanaf mijn J9210 met Tapatalk
Interesting late production car. I remember clearly that it was indicated a couple of times on this forum that there were 1 (or more) very special manual GTOs that were made for a TOP client in HK but no proof was ever provided. Since there has never been any proof (from HK or globally) of a factory supplied manual GTO, my thinking is that this is probably the manual car that was mentioned as the very special manual GTO that went to HK.
#167583 has finally been sold from its original owner , and has found its way alongside #156243 in the Netherlands! L.L.
#167583 now for sale (again...) from the second owner with the same mileage for €375k. https://m.mobile.de/auto-inserat/ferrari-599-manual-6-speed-ceramic-and-rollbar-maastricht-airport/323786803.html?searchId=cfe5f84f-2258-d81a-3983-6a7f43ab8bbc&type=ad L.L.

this is the one? I couldnt verify it because none of the shots are close enough to the interior.( I dont have a premium account )
Yeah I asked a friend with a premium account and he didn't see anything as well. However, I agree with your statement, because I can't see any paddles in this side shot of the car, and because of your experience with 599s. Thank you again for your help! Image Unavailable, Please Login L.L.
Gents, How do we know the Pozzi car is converted? Why would they swap to a 612 gearbox (and how do we know this)? If this is the case, FChat detectives never cease to impress!
Why would someone change the whole shifting mechanism of a 612/550/575 into a 599, if not to convert it? Either he converted it from F1 to a manual, or he's just so used to the shifting feel of the 612/550/575. Second theory seems unlikely though haha. L.L.
Makes no sense to swap out a 599 transaxle for a 612 transaxle. On the OTO, they used the 599 gearbox case to make it easier to match up with the 599 twin disc dry clutch. Why go the other way?
I didn't mean a whole trans-axle swap. I was informed by the mechanic who did the conversion of the 599 of @Qksilver from F1 to manual (I'll post about it soon), that he used modified shifting linkages from the 612 in order to make the conversion work. I imagine the reason behind that is the massive cost/time savings compared to finding an OEM 599 mechanism. L.L.
