Anyone else get the email from Ferrari about the new Ferrari Testa Rossa J ? It is a 3/4 scale (75% as big) electric model car of the real Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. I've seen the dealer pdf and (sorry cannot share) it looks amazing!!! Apparently 2 people can - one adult & one kid - and cruise around in it
I have one of these Ordered and this morning I found out that Ferrari are not making the car. It’s being made by a U.K. company called THE LITTLE CAR COMPANY. They look to do a very nice job but they are working on behalf of the manufacturers.
The Little Car Company makes great "66% scale" sort of children's cars. They are beautifully made, and are mini-cars made with License from the car manufacturers. Bugatti, Aston Martin, and now Ferrari. So it is just another Licensed product with no real ties to Ferrari other than paperwork & marketing.
I understand base price is approx. 90'000 Euros and one can personalise the car for an additional kool 50 Grand. Marcel Massini
Price is all relative. Amalgam makes amazing but pricey 1/4 scale Ferrari models coming out at over $27,418. This just so happens to one you can drive..sort of. On a side note, I am a little disappointed that the PDF I saw features pictures aim to sell this 3/4 scale version that are not pictures of the actual model but of the real car. Deceptive to say the least. However in my conversations with the Little Car Company they assured me that the photos are still an accurate representation of what is to come.
Apparently they will get a real Ferrari VIN number. Here’s some information from a dealer website: https://www.ferraribeverlyhills.com/250-TR/ Ferrari is producing a very limited replica of the 1957 250 Testa Rossa. It is important to note that this livery comes with a Ferrari original badge, as well as its own VIN. It is faithfully 75% scale, with body work made of hand-beaten aluminum, leather interior and a steel ladder type chassis. Electric powertrain, removable battery with 60-90 km range, functional lights, working horn and instruments are all included. The design of the chassis started directly from the original drawings kept in Ferrari Classiche.
Here’s a recent article about the Little Car Company: https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2021-little-car-company/?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&utm_source=facebook&cmpid=socialflow-facebook-business&utm_content=business&fbclid=IwAR1q3RSYCJa94mt7mkim_5baQImT7jALLivqnZ72gGU_PuhPiiUTm9deS2Y
I’ve ordered one too the day it was announced ..... the thought of me and my 2 year old boy in it was too powerful . I’ve seen some of the livery - v special !! Only 299 cars I believe but not common knowledge ..... I’m actually excited at this as will be great addition to the collection - next year hoping to build my new man cave with a separated area for my kid ....
My wife is 37 weeks pregnant with our first child. I showed the pdf to my dad and immediately he called me and said this was the car he wanted to take his grandson to school. No arguing with that.
Not sure. But I did just receive this morning photos from The Little Car Company of the bare metal body of one of the prototypes being built! Exciting stuff!
