@OCKlasse so what’s the game plan with Connolly Pole Positions? Where are you planning on sourcing the Connolly? Who’s doing the work? Going with new or used Pole Positions?

Going with new seats. I’ll see if my source checks out before confirming definitively. Want to keep simple. Just nice Connolly-covered seats with the embossed prancing horse. The question is do I do red stitching or keep it stealth and black...

By the way, does anyone want to buy my OMP VID2? Needs a full resto, but good luck finding another...

Well, I guess I got lucky and found a pair of these seats in standard sizing and only 25 mins away from me so I pulled the trigger and brought them home today. Best part is, I got the whole rest of the car along with them! Stay tuned for a dedicated intro thread but so excited to be joining 355 ownership, I couldn’t resist posting here.

check out JustinPlacek on Instagram. If you can get him some Connolly leather, that would be a huge +. They can buy pole positions in Germany for you.

What are recommendations for seat rails and side mounts for Pole Positions? Recaro mounts welded to the factory rails?

Or very low profile custom brackets that mount to the rails.

Just put your phone under middle of the seat and snap a pic :). I’m sure you’ll get a pic of the tag with a few tries.

The seats are so nice. i wonder if it is worth to buy one at astronomical price, only to modify it to fit F355 Spider.

^ Not sure but as I understand it the seats have to move for top operation? If so you may find yourself with bandaged fingers like the Jeremy Clarkson vid of him moving the seats to put the GTS top behind them. (as there is no quick release function)

    X-mas came early :).

My carbon sport seats just arrived today. They are Dec. 1998 and Jan 1999 build dates. Very late production run and in the ultra rare plain weave carbon, which is exactly what I’m after so they match all my other carbon bits.

I measured the shoulder length from absolute end to end meaning I also incorporated the backside leather padding, which is the furthest the seats extend out.

I got 53 cm or a little under 21 inches wide. I believe you guys measured 2 sets of seats at 57 cm. These appear to be narrower. However, the bottom tag of the seats still indicate “129.” The number must be an indicator for 355 seats, not sizing.

I’m going to assume the narrow version (which happens to be what I’m looking for) I have is more standard on later model 355’s. Now I’m very curious to know what @Tarek307 ‘s “large” seat measures as his are also late production models.

    More unsolved mystery.

I think I have it figured out :).

    Here’s my theory:

1995-97 (or possibly 1998) 355 carbon sport seats came in one size, hence there was no need to indicate sizing.

Then, perhaps with the introduction of F1 in 98, they introduced a new sport seat with at least a narrower top (we’ll have to confirm if any changes to waist and leg sizes later). I’m thinking 98 simply because introduction of F1. I’ll need to take a look at more seat samples from 98 cars.

This “narrow” version became the new standard sizing for 98-99, hence no size indicator. However, a “large” was now an option, whereas it was never an option 95-97. Tarek’s large seat might show some indication in the manufacturing tags. We’ll have to wait and see.

This would explain why these seats came in 3 different sizes, but for the longest time, it was believed there was only 1 size. 1 size for 95-97. 2 sizes for 98-99, with large being extremely rare.

Moving forward, most Ferrari carbon sport seats appear to have a narrow top. I’m 5 ‘10 ish 175 lbs. It hugs nicely :). I can’t wait.

@INTMD8 Your seats are also a 1999 correct? Narrow top?
