Ammonia huh? Could be mouse droppings. Was your car in storage? My father's car was in left in storage over last winter and by spring there had been mice living in the engine bay.

Is it more of a musty smell? Then it is probably the air conditioning. You can easily have these cleaned. I would try that first.

If you’re only smelling it with the windows down then it suggests to me you might be smelling exhaust fumes. Although if you’re on the motorway that’s obviously less likely.

Is the car running normally? I would take it to dealer and get them to check the emissions and any error codes

Are you running the stock cats?

If it is a fuel smell, it can be indicative of a fuel leak.

Like was said, take it to a dealer. If they say it's normal, take it to another dealer.
It should not smell pungent of fuel or exhaust.

This! And don't be fooled that no gasoline shows up on the ground, the under panels can mask a fuel leak, I know!

Yes have cats ,I read somewhere that the trunk seal if it’s not doing it’s job May cause exhaust fumes to get sucked in when windows are down ,I have Kline complete exhaust but did it even before

Had a male cat spray one of my cars at bottom of windshield by outside air vents. That is one nasty smell

So F dealership had car 14 days said it was the Novitec exhaust....long story short wasn’t that ,it was the gasket from the header to the cats ! Replaced both and issue has resolved !
I tell you ,the F dealership sucks at service not sure what y’all’s experience have been, never to date have had a decent experience with them ! Only reason I ha e to use them is because of warranty

No surprises there. Just go to the 458/488 section and read the thread about brake issues on a Pista.

Why do you think I advise people against having tyres replaced at your Ferrari dealer? Tyres are an important safety feature,,, so one should let people who know what the hell they are actually doing handle such important things, not the authorized Ferrari dealer.
