I had to look that up. Turns out the "other famous Chicago style hot dog place" in PHX metro sells them: https://www.portillos.com/menu/restaurant/hot-dogs-and-chili/##CharGrilledMaxwellStreetPolishSausage Image Unavailable, Please Login There is one near our airbnb and we already planned to go there next week. Now I know what I'll be ordering!
I don't have the words to accurately describe how much I can't think of anything now but a Maxwell Street Polish. I can figurately smell the mustard in that picture. You sir have ruined my diet today but I don't care. If you're ever in Chicago, I'll have a Maxwell waiting for you, on me.

Wait a second! No sport peppers? No glow in the dark green relish?!? By the way, Jeremy, you ever try a mother-in-law? T
Shame on me, I'd never heard of it. But after looking it up, thank you and thank the heavens up above that something like this exists. Side note: I could eat those type of Americanized tamales like skittles. LOVE them.
Oh yeah! Definitely. I heard of the MIL from when we lived in Memphis. Those type of tamales are well known in the Mississippi delta. A bit diff from Mexican style tamales. Anywho, the wife & I were on an eating tour of Mississippi, one of the ladies we bought tamales from told us that if we ever went to Chicago, we needed to try a mother-in-law! I think Anthony Bourdain did a show on them too. Nothing gives you heartburn like a mother in law! T
Boring spaghetti and meatballs tonight......................... The best hotdogs are from Japa dog here in Vancouver. Its hard to get decent Mexican here, thinking of making my own tacos tomorrow.
Go to Japa Dog. Take pictures! Image Unavailable, Please Login Pizza! Roasted broccoli, caremalized onions, serrano and habanero pepper slices. T
Thanks. The wewalka premade dough makes it a snap. The broccoli was the wife's idea. I did one for her with no peppers. Taste was good I thought...T
Trumpet mushrooms and a salad. Had a couple-three bites of chicken fried steak but wasn’t in the mood for it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
It is. The hot tamales you get in the Mississippi Delta are not exactly like the Tex-Mex tamales you may be familiar with. https://www.southernfoodways.org/interview/hot-tamales-the-mississippi-delta/ T
" Rhoda's Famous Hot Tamales....Lake Village, AR https://www.foodnetwork.com/restaurants/ar/rhodas-famous-hot-tamales-restaurant
Packed in a coffee can! That's authentic down-home right there! Have you been? Probably drove right past that place when we lived in Memphis. Image Unavailable, Please Login Steak tonight. Prime rib eye from Costco. Lazy after a long day at work. So, we used the gasser. T
How did I miss this?!? We threw away our tortilla press when we lived in Memphis. I curse that decision at least once a week Image Unavailable, Please Login Bought some Maseca today. She texted me this pic from the store. I texted back, the white one. She read it as "the right one". So, I now have 2 kilos of nixtamalized (Google it!) to make corn tortillas with. ♂️ T
"nixtamalized " ****** FWIW, eating a high corn content diet of non-nixtamalized corn causes Pellagra (lack of niacin)......."] Between 1906 and 1940 more than 3 million Americans were affected by pellagra with more than 100,000 deaths"
Ended up nixing tacos for tonight. Had a late lunch with my dad at Brodeur's, a French Canadian style bistro. They have a patio, can dine in. Had beef dip and poutine. Still full, skipping dinner.
