Another BMW R1200S recently joined the household. Light, good low end torque, spectacular high end power, very stable at, hum, high speed, and very comfortable in any situation.

Most bikers who never rode a BMW before fall in love with this very limited production bike: A little more than 400 sold here in the U.S. Maybe 2 or 300 left?

It's a little bit like the Vanquish of the motorcycle world: sexy looking, darn fast but not crazy fast, great brakes, not the fastest bike by far, but ready to be driven at speed all day long.

I recently picked up an all original old Suzuki enduro. Not a show bike, has plenty of patina, but it's kinda cool, and I can actually ride it and not worry about getting a nick or scratch.

Astounding HP numbers. Back in the day the fearsome TZ750 that everyone was afraid to ride was 120HP.
    I've had sport bikes up to around 150HP. I can't imagine 200HP+

    That's a great bike.
I'm lusting after a 50th year BMW R Nine T. It's a retro version of the R75's with the fade paint I couldn't buy when they were new. Spoke wheels, big brakes, 70ish paint.

Six months ago, to get back into the groove after an absence of many years, I bought at an auction a 2020 Harley Davidson Iron 883 at a fabulous price as no-one was bidding on December 31st!

The bike had 141 miles (226 km) and it was my 2nd HD over the years and really an aesthetically truly magnificent beauty. It cost me about $500 in parts to put it back to it's "as new" state.

Well, 5 months later the 883 has been driven about 200 miles and I find its dynamics does not match its aesthetics. Over weight, under powered, terrible suspension...

While the weight cannot be changed, the power and the suspension maybe upgraded but at a huge cost vs. the anticipated benefits. The idea was to use the 883 as a scooter for running local errands.

Today a new bike showed up for bids: a 2020 Ducati Monster 797+. Again, no one was bidding and I got it at a silly price. So as of tonight I have a new "scooter".

I am a bit concerned though by it's mileage: any suggestions? Image Unavailable, Please Login

Image Unavailable, Please Login Both are ‘76 Elsinores..250’s..the non running one is a MR,tad more of a trails enduro lights and a bit mo,re power range..the CR is the full moto cross, doesn’t have a throttle just an on switch..it isn’t here yet, excited to ride it. The MR has a carb issue I’m trying to solve..think I’ll try a Mikuni..these Keihin are no fun,and repl parts unobtainable.
I had a ‘74,it was pretty fun..and nobody got hurt
