    How much in labor (approximately)?

At this point whenever I jump in on a 355 I'm really only concerned about the driving experience and can see doing a conversion if the delta (net of conversion costs) remains so large.

I will say, no guarantee the BaT cars close. I bet it is more like 75%? That is a number out of my a$$, but I am sure the number listed is not always the number consummated.

Merlin car is spectacular. Was a $95k car last year and $75-80k a year before that or so. $115 seems fair considering current market. Wish my car was gray interior instead of tan. Nice alternate color combo. And the steering wheel and dash are black :) but I could really enjoy that “muted” car no one likes in all gray. My dream spec is silver with red interior. Black with red interior would be nice too. White with red would be really nice too. Pretty much over red cars :)

Spoken like a true veteran. Only those who have done red for their first Ferrari could walk away and do another colour.

The below car is a nice colour combo IMO, priced accordingly based on Australian RHD prices (with all our taxes and luxury car duty) already factored into the already silly price:

    https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1998-ferrari-f355-berlinetta-manual/OAG-AD-19037180/?Cr=1

However it has struggled to sell and has been on the market for 2-3 years now. Red factory RHD Bs currently selling between $200k-$250k in similar or worse condition but they move within 6 months.

It goes to show a unique colour combo may be attractive to someone who has done red, it's not a popular choice in the wider market.

Much higher success rate than 75%. I don’t think many willing to lose $5k unless they were drunk bidding. If cars were not closing, you’d see repeat listings much more often. We rarely do. Here’s one example.

That Aussie Spec is glorious. Gray carpet is nice change of pace. Maybe I will color change my car.... Grigio and red. Why not.... We had a 458 in the shop a few weeks ago. Factory Giallo car. Color code on deck lid was Nero. Ferrari can’t even tell sometimes

Irony is it's more expensive to convert a manual to an F1 than the other way around.

This delta won't last long IMO.

The irony is if there’s a flock of people converting their F1’s to manual, F1’s will become much more rare and probably fetch higher premiums than manuals when it is all said and done.

F1's are already the most rare.

F1 GTS is the rarest variant (Excluding Fiorano Spiders and Challenge Cars)
F1 Berlinetta is second I think?

And tiptronic 993's are among the rarest of 993's....but they're still worth a lot less manuals. Rarity is not a synonym for desirable or valuable.

@JSinNOLA - the labor is the easy part, an experienced 355 mechanic can do it in a couple of days. What's hard at this point is finding the parts. If I had to do it all over again I don't think I could gather all the parts together right now -- the manual stuff just isn't out there anymore, for the most part. For this reason I don't think we're going to be seeing a flood of converted 355's.

    And worth every penny.

That's about as new as it gets and it hasn't even surpassed its MSRP adjusted for inflation.
