Congrats! Tommy, please forgive me as I don't remember anymore if you own a QV or a 328. But both models have Nicasyl hardened liners with Mahle pistons, so they can last up to 150000 miles and even more. A mileage that is impossible to reach (without engine rebuilding) a for carbed and 2Vi cars (cast iron liners with Borgo pistons). ciao
well done. I like the story you tell about the no oil and being at the race track... shows how tough the engines are... Tommy does take care of the car - which is important for longevity.
I may have told you this before but I didn't tell that story for years. Probably 10. I was convinced that if I did tell someone that the car was running great since it happened - RIGHT after it happened - it would fail right then. I am pretty sure it was Steve Ahlgrim I first mentioned it to at one of Ted's Saturday cookouts at his warehouse. And I regretted even telling him for months after. That all happened Spring 2004.
Hey Tommy, the same factory workers probably built both our cars. I have GTS #50399 and here is the exact moment of me hitting 80K miles. Thanks for giving me something to shoot for! Excellent job!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Tommy, I know the best part of the 120,000 miles is that you have had way more fun than the rest of us with our 20,30, 40,000 miles. And by the way would you please send this email to the Porsche Club of America so they can get over their delusion that the Porsche is the only high mileage capable sports car out there. And by the way I own a Porsche also.
