Al Tayer Motors in Dubai - When did they start?

    I looked on their corporate site and they said that the Al Tayer Group were established in the Middle East around 1979, but in another online reference, for the Ferrari sales/service franchise, it was stated that they started around 1988. If that's true, who was selling Ferraris in Dubai before that? If there was no franchise at all in Dubai around that time, were cars brought in from other countries, like Saudi Arabia?

    The whole country was in its infancy back then. I don’t think there was any Ferrari dealer. If there was any Ferrari back then it would have been imported from a dealer in Europe. That would be my guess.

    Most cars were bought overseas and brought in back then.
