    Hey all,

I'm a year into Ferrari ownership and it's better than I've ever imagined. The F430 is a brilliant car and have really enjoyed the driving and ownership experience. I bought the F430 as it seemed like the logical entry level Ferrari. Affordable, fast, reliable and a nice balance between modern classic.

The car attracts huge attention at cars and coffee, everyone loves it, more than most newer models including the 458.

Last week I checked out an F12 for fun and fell in love. For a lot of reasons I see them as a great long term hold, sitting at or near the bottom of the depreciation curve (relative to MSRP). I found a buyer for my car and I only have to say Yes to move forward with the F12... but I'm feeling hesitant and challenging myself to really understand if this move is right for me.

Have any of you guys evaluated the move to a newer/modern Ferrari? Any regrets?
Do you miss the raw/visceral feeling of the older Ferrari's?
Is the F12 worth double the money (over the F430)?

Totally different experience. The F12 is a great all around car but it’s far from the raucous tactical Ferrari experience that attracts me to the brand. I also think the F12 still has a fair bit of depreciation to go.

I have a 430 Scuderia currently (6 years) and my next would be an F12...prices are pretty depressed now. I doubt they have that much to go, before they level off. I'm probably still a few years away from that move anyway...so maybe it works in my favor.

I added an FF to compliment my gated 360 spider. That’s the way to go, best of both worlds.

I know this area...I was at a restaurant on a weekend trip I organized with the Ferrari club for the Italian car show in North Van...back in 2007 or 2008 (I organized a group every year from 2000 to 2009. The valet parked my F355 spider and did a crap job and almost curbed my driver side wheel on the curb on the left side of your photo ;) I hope to organize a group drive up for June 2021 show. We used to have dinner Saturday night with the Vancouver crew...great times

Reading your post, I advise you to take the step because it seems to me that you are already too emotionally attached to the F12. Otherwise you will always wonder if you really did the right thing. You can always go back.

I would say keep the 430 and add the F12 if possible. The F12's still have some depreciation left in them.

The proper answer to the V8-V12 question: both.
In all seriousness, I'd take an F12 from a 430 coupe, but the spider is such a unique experience.

I have owned an F430 for two years and now have a 458 and an F12. My advice is to get the 458. If you like the F430 experience (which is awesome) you will love the 458. The 458 is an improvement on everything that's great about the F430. The F12 is a great car but to be honest, I like the 458 much better. You have to really push the F12 to get the most out of it. What I mean is that is is very civilized around town. You have to get the revs up to 4000 rpms or so to get the exhaust really going and by that time you are usually doing double the speed limit. So unless you are out banging hard its fairly tame. The 458 always feels insane even at low rpms in traffic.

Thank you members for taking time to share your thoughts and insights. I’ve decided to keep my F430 and wait until I’m ready to add another.

Some interesting thoughts regarding 458, I chose the F430 on product, not budget. Unless it’s a Speciale I’m good with a more wild and visceral experience.

    You guys rock!

While different from an F12, I went from a 550 to a F430. Totally different driving experiences. Can't beat a mid engined car, I'll never go back to a front. F430 is still a current deal. NA, raw, aggressive, timeless design, sound, etc.

I really love my F430, but I believe the F12 sounds like a beast and really love the aggressive looks. Looks like a more ‘adult’ car. I would definitely go F12!
