So funny you should say this. Just yesterday I was offered to test drive a Lambo Huracan. While I have to say the NA V10 engine is mighty and sounds phenomenal, from a design perspective I just don't see it competing against my 458S. Not even close. I test drove it for 20 min and loved it, but I was sooooooo happy to get back to the ELEGANCE (that's the best word in my mind) of my Ferrari.

I think the only car I'd trade mine for would be that Speciale of yours! :D

I'd sell it... if they made a V12 version instead :)

Thanks Mike. As I said in previous post, this is my 3rd one (1st Spider). Really the best of both worlds.

So at this stage, nearly 80% of 458 owners aren’t planning to sell, ever.

That explains why whenever I pull in for my yearly maintenance service, dealer asks my if I want to trade it.

Because no one is willing to, and there’s strong demand now that people realize that the 458 is the last true V8 Ferrari (in terms of what the brand stood for and achieved its greatness - naturally aspirated engines) and that in a couple of decades’ time, you won’t be able to buy an ICE car, let alone a proper Ferrari.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

I am just so glad that I have one in my garage. Warm and fuzzy feeling to know that there it sits, the last true NA V8 dreamcar... waiting for me to take a ride whenever I want.

Gentlemen of excellent taste, I salute you. We are privledged. Cheers.

I just hope that when I'm old I can still buy Sunoco-95 by the drum for just $8.50/gal for it when the kids are whizzing by at 250MPH on their hoverbikes.

Yep my feelings too. I think the 812C will be the last truly exciting Ferrari...unless the Laferrari replacement remains atmospheric V12, that is. But for ''entry level'' models, 488/F8 already turbos (amazing cars and whatnot don't get me wrong), 812 replacement remains to be seen what it gets still. GTC4Lusso V12 gone. EU might require a blackbox on new cars soon, instantly making all new cars totally unattractive for me.

458 is mighty fast. Don't care that some EVs may beat it in a straight line. Who cares.

    458's are keepers...

I’m also thinking this, as the last naturally aspirated one, is the keeper. I still regret selling the 308GTS QV to this day (but not so much the Cali). But let me move away from the technical bit. I’m not a petrolhead but there’s always been something about the Ferrari - no one else makes cars like that. I fell in lust with the spider from the second I saw one. I fell in love with it the first time I drove one. It took nearly two years to find the one I wanted and I’ve added 4K miles in a COVID lockdown year. So I can’t imagine us divorcing - even for a younger model.

i was driving my Performante and my kid was driving my 458 Spider on the highway yesterday. Just watching the 458 rip down the highway is a beautiful thing. That car has the body of a true supermodel. Stunning with the meaty rear 375/30/21's on the HRE's. Looks so planted and smooth. Also at 8500 rpm blowing out of the full Ti Arko exhaust it rivals any car ever produced for sound...including my 355 with the Tubi! My 458 will be with me for at least another 10k miles unless something so fantastic comes along in the future that it makes my spine tingle like this car does. Well done Ferrari. Thank you! Thank you .. it was a painstaking debate what would compliment and not overwhelm. I am very happy how it turned out.
