Hello Fchat Friends! Can anyone tell me where/how/if I can obtain a Ferrari key blank, or a reproduction key blank like this picture for my 1995 456GT?? Anyone have a lead? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry.. picture borrowed.. I know this is not a 456GT key.... but this style I believe is what my 456 came with originally?
$600 on ebay, ouch, that's an expensive 1in. rubber horse https://www.ebay.com/itm/Key-Blank-Ferrari-355-575-456-550-Blank-Key-ET-NR-170010-/353166081092?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 I thought about doing one thing, buying a previously cut version for cheap, and seeing if you can just remove the rubber handle and put it on one of the regular $20 blank keys.
I think they might be making those again for Ferrari, but you have to provide proof of ownership and a promissory note on your first-born child. Check with your nearest dealer and Daniel at Ricambi. Last time I bought any, they were two for $300 11 years ago on German E-Bay, but I already sold one of the blanks and will keep the other for a spare.
The seller, schlaunach, on eBay is the real deal. If you want a genunine 170010, just buy it from that auction and move on with your life.
@Ricambi America is there any alternative that is not $600?? Obviously I want the original key, but seems like a lot of dinero for a key...
I'm not really sure. If I had an original 170010, that's about where I'd 'start' the listing. I'm sure somebody, somewhere has it for less. If you don't care about originality, it's a fairly basic blade shape that can be purchased as a steel blank in a lot of locations around the internet.
If you're not worried about the shape and the Cavallino... this forum thread will help with a blank Starting about here... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/147482382/
Two keys and three fobs for the 5.2 V8s and V12s and 360 (7.3) and 575 (7.1.1). Enzo (7.1.1), too Lots of 360 owners have made really pretty keys with Enzo-like plastic head and one of our FChatters (Forza Componenti) sells the whole key with the correct blank. I have one myself. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My understanding is you can go to a dealer these days and get one for ~$300. They were unavailable for some time but I think you can get them again. Reprokeys was selling a really nice reproduction for something like $175 but Ferrari shut him down because of the Cavallino. I was able to get these for several years but he stopped making them. I have a Silca plastic headed blank I sell for $20, but if you want the real thing I think the dealer is your best bet. The Klassic Keys are also very nice if you don't care about the 1990's original look.
I do have an original on the left in this picture. If none of your cuts are deeper than this it could be recut to match your car and I'd sell it for a good price. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Try to get one of these! I have one, and I really like it. It is also much nicer to turn in the ignition switch.
Lance, I bought an original blank on eBay for $200. They are getting very scarce and only pop up every blue moon, so you just have to pay whatever is the asking price. I also did like Taz and bought Forza ones for the 456 and my 360. Very nice, they are the everyday keys. There was also someone selling repro’s, but they’re smooth without the cross-hatch pattern. I’ll look through my records and see if I recorded who had them.
Does anyone know if overseas authorized F dealers charge less money for the real key fob. I need to ask a friend in Italia who does source parts.
I strongly recommend getting them at the dealer....I went through 3 replicas which all broke in under a year of only light use (the twisting motion broke the metal key out of the plastic housing of the replicas). The OEM key is much higher quality and more durable. Ferrari even cuts it for you. I ordered as a back up for my 512.
You did not buy it here and it is used. What is with your Kia Rio deluxe and roll up windows ? The dealer is just too snooty. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great feedback....so a dealer can still get the keys? I had not realized that... I will reach out to a few and see how I would do that... if anyone has a lead on keys at a lower price point, please let me know!!
