Summerish there is supposedly a new mid-engine release. I think they may do like a send off for the F8, something materials/paint like the Alonso 599 etc.
I expressed enthusiasm in a similar manner in the F8/STO thread, however, another member explained in response there won't be a F8 VS.
The LB (v6+hybrid) is being announced in 2 months or so, it replaces the F8, the F8 was a stop-gap model, no F8VS expected
The F8VS would by necessity have to be an upgrade over the Pista. The engine power would need to be elevated and the driving dynamics more immersive. The appearance would need to be more dramatic and special. The Pista would be rendered redundant. Cannot see that happening.
IMO Ferrari will we using the F8 platform for the F40 Icono So no F8 VS which would be a huge conflict with LB
A couple of months ago I was told there will be a F8 VS. Why wouldn't they produce one? Ferrari made big money with the Pista. Sent from my BBF100-6 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Because the F8 was to maintain the 488 line until the hybrid+turbo V6 was ready, apparently when that plan was put into place the 488 was going to end life by now and the LB was not going to be ready. So the F8 was a refreshed design intended as a hold over of the 488 line. The LB (hybrid+turbo V6) will replace the 488 line and will also end the F8 and the LB will be revealed in less than 2 months.
That is not how it works. They would not make much with a few extra F8's. They will however hurt the Pista used market significantly, not to mention piss off their core clientele. They just have to look at Porsche and McLaren to see how well doing those things work. This is the year of the 812 VS and pretty soon the LB debuts. No F8 VS. Did your dealer by any chance tell you that you could get one if you bought something else? Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Patek discontinued the 5711 and came out with a limited edition green faced 5711 Nautilus which right now is the hottest watch on the planet. I tried to get one by my dealer for only 2. Already sold ou ty. Now one say that why wouldn’t Patek just make more? Easy money. Instead of each dealer getting 2, give them 20 to sell. Like you said, this is not how it works. Companies realize that they can only make so many “limited editions” before people get wise. LB is coming in 6 weeks. They are going to start taking orders. So all of a sudden you introduce a F8VS? Which one do I buy as a consumer? Surely I don’t want the regular production LB when I can have an exclusive F8 VS. Then who buys the LB? Yes lots of ferrari owners can do both but there isn’t an unlimited supply of idiots like us willing to plunk 400k on a stupid car.
So is it the worst time to buy a f8? Will the LB be competing with the artura or 720s? Id imagine 720s? Since f8 is sort of close to 720s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
perhaps just livery or cosmetic adjusted version, just to squeeze some juice. Just speculation on my part.
I dont have answers. All I can tell you that anytime Ive purchased something because Ive liked it and not because the mob said it was the latest and greatest is when Ive done the best from an enjoyment/satisfaction/investment standpoint. Do you like the Artura? 690 hp, hybrid? then buy it. Do you like the f8? 720 hp, non hybrid engine? then buy it. Do you like the 720? then buy it. My point is I dont know how the LB is gonna do, how the F8 is gonna do, the SF90, Pista or anything else. Buy what sings to you and chances are you will be happy.
I was only asking u what it’s direct competitor was, Artura or 720s performance wise? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ferrari is not even racing the F8....there still racing the 488. No F8 special version. usually these car companies race the body style and then the special version comes out.
