Whilst one should not look at cars as investments I am mindful of not seeing my funds in a car pour down the drain. Hence, I rarely look at new cars.

I do however wish to drive the car a few thousand miles each year.

Post 2000 - which 3 cars would you say are the most likely to appreciate or, at the very least, remain the same value.

[All things being equal - No huge recession/more lethal covid, comet, alien invasion, etc]

Another way of putting it is 'which 3 Ferraris are the most desirable' within that spend?

    Cheers!

sorry, mine barely pre-2000. However, out of all Ferraris under $200k now I would bet they have the most investment potential.

430 Scuderia should also go up eventually or at least not budge too much if you add 10k miles.

maybe the 456 and 612 6-speed, but I see the 430 6-speed is 6 months too late on the buy. who knows, could be Tesla, keep going up and up. :)

My guess is very few, if any, 6 speeds will appreciate any more than they have already appreciated. The supply will remain stable, but the demand will drop off over time. Old timers are either dying off or are either unable or unwilling to work a clutch any more. Most, not all, young people have no interest in manual transmissions. JMO.

I'd be concerned with long-term 6 speed appreciation. At some point those that appreciate shifting manually will not be driving the market. I'd say 360 CS or 430 Scud.

But those are old F1 gearboxes and no one could fix them when in service new and in 20 years no one will be able to fix them then either. Manual boxes will have appeal just like manuals before as in the 250gto 275gtb etc... And nobody wanted a 612 when new and no one will want one in the future. They are V12 Mondials. Not trying to be mean there has never been an appreciating market for 4 seater F cars.

    None.

The group to ask the question to is who will be buying these cars from the current owners for MORE than the current prices adjusting for inflation. Not too optimistic personally..

Same and I know of 4 companies now converting 430's to 6 speed manuals, one has 100 kits, one 50 and the other 2 not sure so that'll bring the factory manual prices down.

F430 6 speed. I agree younger gen does not drive 6 speeds but this is the last factory 6 speed ever made and will be the last.

For less than $200K might need higher mileage cars but I don't think you will ever lose money on any of these cars.

I went through a search/purchase cycle ending 14 months ago with a $200k budget and honestly, no Ferraris were appealing to me in that price range.

I imagine the best options are the track specials.

What is the engine out service interval for Bitcoins?

And Bitcoins I’m sure have a better valve guide design

The 355 does not qualify as post-2000; if older cars are considered a 512TR could be an option.

Vey low mileage will be the key to appreciation. So none are a good investment if you intend to drive it. It's one or the other.

This is a very interesting and uncertain time in the evolution of automobiles. You have two major evolutionary factors at play. Not only is the manual being replaced by auto, but gasoline is being replaced by electric. The upcoming generations clearly prefer simplicity and the idea of environment friendly solutions; auto and electric. If you want to take it a step further, there's a third factor at play, autonomy. While that may not directly affect the performance car sector anytime soon, autonomy in general can alter the way upcoming generations view cars. If automobiles start becoming viewed as nothing more than glorified taxis, the desirability of cars in general will fall. Granted, the extent of the fallout from autonomy might still be quite aways away. The first two factors though are likely to affect things much sooner.
