agreed but then again, with Ferrari you never know, what they have in mind when it comes to choosing car names
You've made your point: GTO. You might as well tell us how do you know. If it sounds credible, maybe we could consider you're right.
Seeing that a few lost their allocations sharing the initially leaked rendering, I think most will be very cautious. Don't bet on it. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
In order for a car to compete in that class, there has to be a road going version. For this reason the F80 might be the first real GTO since the 288. And for this reason I doubt very much the 812 VS will be called GTO or LM. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Do any of you have contacts with the Ferrari top management? I'd like to recommend that to reveal the name of the car at least a year before launch, so we eliminate a problem. I'm more curious to see the design, the solutions and technical innovations rather than the name. I somehow participated in the name lottery with you. But in short, it seems to me a marginal problem
Ferrari has no reason to pay tribute to the USA with this car. Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Not necessarily. FIA regulations for LMH class: ARTICLE 0: FOREWORD The present regulations apply to cars built both as bespoke race prototypes as well as to race cars built taken an original road going hypercar as a base. I haven't heard Ferrari saying which path they would follow: purpose build prototipe or hypercar based racing car. They might as well choose a prototype like Toyota or propably Peugeot.
Yes, but the leak happened during a Private presentation (The customer and the dealer or Ferrari directly, I do not remember). We are talking about an event where there are several people at the same time.... It will be difficult to avoid a leak and even harder to find the source. I am 100% sure that there will be a leak (photo or technical details or both). Only two days left!
Oops, this is what we are a lot here to do Back on the video from Dubai showing a car under a red cover, it seems it has a huge wing. Could be a 488 GTE/GT3/Modificata but after seeing the pic again, for sure I talked too quickly saying it could have been the VS Aperta.
Ah, interesting. I was not aware that the proto type and hypercar class would be combined. To me this seems really odd, and kind of negates the purpose of a hypercar entry. No street type car, even a hypercar, can compete with a race car prototype. But despite this, I hope Ferrari enters with a hypercar and not a prototype. Will be much more fun to see what a hypercar derrived race car can do Sent from my SM-G930F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
@Marcel Massini stated in the last page that its an FXXK EVO. Makes sense to me given the overall shape, especially the front. Also the FXXK-EVO has a pretty large and high tail. Given the angle from which this pic/vid is taken, I can believe that its is an FXXK-EVO.
I am not sure. BTW: Marcel wrote about FXX Evo (without "K" ). Anyway, neither car has that large, wide and flat rear wing (FXX-K Evo has a curved, arch-like wing). It looks more like GTE/GT3/Challenge/Modificata/P80
The Monza is in the Icona range, based on a « standard » production model (here, the 812SF). Next Icona coule be based on anything else from the « standard » range, but I’m not sure if Ferrari has announced anything about the next Icona.
I think the SF90 is a good guess. Now what iconic model that uses mid-engined turbo V8 architecture is there....?
So, I presume on April 21 2021, the magazine embargo will be lifted as the "private" reveal already occurred (i.e. the leaked image of March 3, 2021) why would there be 2 private reveals? What would the point of that be? So, on that date we will all know?
Has anyone on here considered that Ferrari may have 'planted' that spy shot of the incoming special edition 812?
On the 21st April or shortly thereafter selected customers will be shown photos. Magazines must wait till press release follows around 5th of May. Marcel Massini
