In the first race he goes wide . Now he has a crap lap and throws away Pole potential Before you know it Lewis will build up a lead while Merc improves the car and then Max will be dusted
Hypothetically speaking partly true BUUUUT what if Checo improves even more AAAANNND along with Max hold Bottas at bay (likely P4), then RedBull will accrue points with both drivers and could win the WCC title......possibly Max winning the WDC title.
Hopefully they have a good outcome out of the race But my point is Max needs to step up NOW or he'll lose WDC to Lewis
Max needs a win here. If not then next race. After 3 races and no wins I think a concern can be made. P2 here would not be the end of things. I think this year the circuit and changes to the tire will be more critical for each team and its unique rake/chassis.
Here is the problem Max CANNOT get his act together. Say what you want about Hamilton but he's a machine in the car.
Amen. If Max is to be a champion he can’t have things like: -Ocon incident -Austin incident -Turkey incident etc He can beat Hamilton in the same performing car but over the course of a season it will come down to consistency which, so far, Hamilton has Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Guys...really? We only have to go back 2 races for Lewis to have been beaten by Bottas. Max made a minor mistake in his 2nd run. His first run he was slightly held up by Stroll (apparently, I didn't see it myself). Thousands between himself and Lewis. He's hardly imploding.
Very true he's far from imploding But my point is he's got to act quick and win races now in the meantime the Merc's gonna drastically improve and Lewis will run away with the WDC
Not imploding but to be WDC he will have to show a cooler head. If he does that then I think he can be! He will also have to learn to play the mind and politic games which are also important in this sport (sadly) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Prediction: Max never wins a WDC. Added to the list of fast guys that never was champion. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
True I think it's too early to say he's lost his cool at all...Bahrain pisspoor strategy from Red Bull left him with very little options, 1 arrived and the only opportunity was in the closing laps and he got forced wide. Now an incredibly tight qualifying and he really only had the one lap to do it after getting held up a little by Stroll on the first attempt (still need to see the video on that myself). Qualifying 3rd is not the end of the world. Schumacher, Senna, Hamilton, Alonso all have been regularly outqualified by their teammates and #1 rival in close championships. I'm more worried for the start if anything. The Honda's aren't the greatest off the line so I'd be surprised if Perez can get a good enough launch even on the softer tyre, max and Perez on a narrow track is something that scares me, especially considering the amount of opening lap tangles Perez has had with his teammates (his fault or not is beside the point). I do hope that Red Bull aren't leaving anything to chance and have a bit of a chat with both drivers before the start reminding them of what's what.
The most worrying thing for Red Bull is the reliability not the supposed Max’s consistency. Wait and see.
Also agree. Max's car hasn't had faults...yet. All other Honda equipped cars have I think. Worrying to say the least.
I wouldn't bet on that! Verstappen could win one or several WDCs, but he will never be as consistent as Hamilton.
Yes, there is that, but also Verstappen is not consistent in his driving. I don't think the Mercedes/Hamilton era will ever be repeated in F1. The FIA will see to that. As for "the absolute best car", Ferrari had the edge early in the season for a couple of years, but couldn't keep up. Vettel was leading the championship, but then lost it.
It really helps to have a car where you don’t have to try very hard. A car that even Bottas can win with on a fairly regular basis. LOL, the same FIA that has stood by and watched oil burning, illegal tire tests, etc., etc. Pretty weak tea there. The hate is strong with this one. Vettel hate, Ferrari hate. Hate, hate, hate. Also, what the - - - - does this have to do with Verstappen, LOL?! Obsessed much?
"Hate" and "obsession" are your wrongful interpretation of my posts. Has Bottas won anything this year? No, he struggles with the new aero, that only Hamilton just manages. Are you not aware that the FIA introduced rule changes to reduce Mercedes advantage? I mentioned Ferrari and Vettel as an example that the best car doesn't always bring success.
The "machine" just made a mistake while Max had a fantastic start. There are still 22 races left in de WDC, let's wait and see how it unfolds.
