Hi All, My car has been in storage for the winter and has now developed an issue with the alarm. If locked using the key fob button, leave for a few mins and then the alarm activated by itself every time. It’s making it impossible to park anywhere !! Battery is full and Keb Fob battery is new and I don’t see any fuse issues. Any suggestions or similar issue experienced? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Try resetting the whole car. Turn the power off using the lever (or torx screw for later cars) to off for about 30 minutes then see what happens. Make sure you have your radio code if you have the stock stereo in the car before you do this.
Could be anything. Faulty anti-lift sensor, faulty microswitches on engine lid/luggage compartment, door open microswitches, etc. Is everything closing properly?
And are you getting the correct number of beeps when you lock the car? Now that I recall, the immobiliser will let you know if the car is not secure. That is not to say that the latches and microswitches are ok. They could be poorly adjusted or intermittent and any vibration sets off the alarm.
All doors close proper and windows close right to the seals, hood is closing properly too. Last service they ran the diagnostics and nothing showed in terms of sensors however not sure if they would pick any sensor issues up Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
ah.. ok. The flashing light indicates that everything is shut ok. That is not to say that the sensors are not adjusted properly and are close (near) to triggering the alarm. The frunk and engine lid are "closed" when the switches are open circuit. All I can suggest is disconnecting them temporarily (if they are easy to get to).
I had odd alarm behavior and replaced the batteries in the alarm siren. There are a ton of posts about batteries in the 360 alarm but not many about F430. Mine was reading low voltage instead of ~6V. What does the LED on the left dash do after locking the car? Original are the yellow and replaced with Surefire
Hi there may i know where is this item located? Thanks in advance! Best regards Colin Koh Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Need to remove some of the front trunk rug, probably just the piece that holds the compressor. Then is behind a membrane. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool! Im facing the same problem where i locks my car and the sirens will goes off after a while! Hopefully by replacing this batterys! It will solves this issues. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I had the delayed chirps issue. As long as you have checked your microswitches first then could be a solution. I recommend the Surefire USA made CR123A replacements. When you pull slightly on each door handle inside/outside does the window drop? Check both sides and all four handles. Swapping out the batteries is not the most fun thing to do. The black cylinder they are housed in is a tad tough to fight open and then need an iron w decent watts to remove the old tabbed batteries. Then just wire the replacements in series to feed a "backup" ~6V to the siren. (you can see the trace mirror the wire that I ran externally) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I used to sell an alarm battery replacement kit for the 360's. It included a 7.2V Li battery (size of a 9V battery) as those factory alarm modules used two (2) 3.6V batteries. Also encouraged the user to run two leads out of the housing via a supplied connector so the replacement battery was external to the housing for easy access and/or replacement if needed Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well the F430 does not have the complication the 360 has with the leaking chemistry. Replacement CR123A should last another ten years.
Yes, lithium do not leak like NiCad batteries. What is interesting, is I did not know that lithium 123 cells can be used in a rechargeable application. I thought they were single use only. I have tons of flashlights that use them and buy them 50 or 100 at a time due to the 10 year shelf/storage life. Great info on the flashlight forums about 123 batteries. Basically all the USA ones are made by one manufacturer (and not Surefire) (RayoVac?) and all the Japanese ones are made by a single manufacturer (Panasonic?). I cannot recall the details, as it was a few years ago when I last read the thread. Both are good, avoid the Chinese ones.
The circuit is draw down only and I think only operating when the car battery is disconnected. Marginal voltage seems to create weird issues for the alarm system.
