    ... end it’s definitely not a track car ;)

My car has the novi springs, a tune, new tires , brakes etc soi was kinda hoping it would do okay...

But nothing you can do with all that weight.

It was a full 105 db day so I went all out with the kline exhaust/200 cel set up... litteraly people enjoyed overtaking me just because of the noise the car made.
In the straights, I could kinda keep up but( combined with my limited recent track time) I really didn’t like how the car was behaving at the limit. The back felt very snappy on edge and under heavy braking too. Almost lost it by the corkscrew but didn’t ;) Image Unavailable, Please Login

I didn’t disconnect the help because I didn’t want to spin.
The tires also took a while to warm up; you really really have to hit the brakes to warm them up and oh boy is the pedal firm!

As my dct was already replaced I wasn’t too worried about the car reliability but she did impress me. She behaved flawlessly, no warning, no nothing. Tire wear was minimal,no leaks, no nada. I, only did max 15 laps and barely went through 3/4 of the tank although I was pushing it.

Anyways, next time I’ll bring another car;)

Nice! I saw your car in one of BayAreaNady's posts and I asked him if it had gone on track. :)
I don't think I'll take my FF to the track any time soon as my 360 does that job pretty well, but maybe once should be justified.

I think both the FF and Lusso can get a bit squirrely at the back. Normally you would say that is a good feature for a supercar but I found they don't let go that predictably. These are also supposed to be more sure-footed four-wheel-drive cars than, say an F12 or 812. The 812 is more predictable and confidence-inspiring. Great cars, just not the best at maximum attack. They're pretty good in the snow with winter tyres though!

Definitely once, specially with a custom exhaust, the car sings

Yeah, it took a lot of effort to stop the car but the back was snappy and with that weight I definitely didn’t want to have to control it at high speed

Haha, an FF on a track. Yeah, why not:)

I'm not one bit surprised to hear your finding with the back. That's what a GT car does. They are not set up to be progressive, but rather just be consistent in their grip over a specific range. Not to say an FF is not progressive at all, but it is not a sports car. If it is excessive, have your alignment checked, because what you describe also fits with bad alignment.

Really strange to hear that you had problems getting the tyres warm. Normally the street tyres like MPSS, PZero and MPS4S suck on the track, because they overheat on 3-4 laps - and that on lighter cars like the 488 etc. It is not easy to keep tyre temps below 55 C and that is where the street tyres stop. Above that, you need cup 2 or the like.

But sounds like you had a fun day. Good stuff:)

How much did it kill your brake pads? Anything left?

Brake pads are fine, they were brand new;) my 4 rotors are also brand new.
It my first sessions I was not braking hard enough and I couldn’t get the tire above 110 Fahrenheit.
In the second session I pushed harder and reached 150-160 Fahrenheit and car was much better.
I had an alignment done I want to say 6 months ago, maybe 700-1000 miles ago so I’m not sure it’s what it was; I think it’s more like what you said. It’s a big GT:) it was fun enough ! Only Ferrari on track seems like McLaren are the way to track nowadays!

Must admit I was surprised the FF got some succès and compliments. Apparently it’s aging well and no longer is ugly

tough track for a big car. I suspect that it would be quite a different experience on the 3 mile layout at Thunderhill.

Yeah- I think a flat track with straights would be fine. It does very well in that setting.

Covid has been great for laguna. The pros are gone so more 105db days for us unwashed masses. I was there last weekend racing and fly-fishing for strippers in Monterey bay. Weather was perfect!

So what I’m hearing is that the FF would be MacGyver’s car of choice!
