The new set of front indicator lights for the BBi is a bit different from those that came in the car. What do I have here, and what part(s) go in the forward-most hole (the smaller, lower one in the pic) of each?

Stock euro vs modified for US legal? Just a thought...

My thought was possibly BB (running light in the unit) vs. BBi (running light in front/top edge of the valance), but parts diagrams don't show anything different for the two. The bottom shape/contours are slightly different, also, with those that came in the car ('82) having some curved ribs.

Do Boxers get any condensation inside those lenses? Just another thought that maybe it could be some sort of "vent" added by a previous Owner (or Shop) to try to address moisture and/or heat? Just bloviating...but those ribs on the one held by hands definitely looks like a later design change done by Ferrari for a structural reason, so, if the 2nd hole was their idea, would've thought it would be there, too.

No condensation issue that I'm aware of, but might make sense, except for the bug collection issue. If these were used, I could at least tell if there had been a fixture attached in that smaller hole.
The new one is finished better/nicer than the ribbed original.

The finned model is for the BB and the one with no fins for the BBi. The extra hole in your BBi model is possibly home made for some special purpose.

That would be an interesting mod. I wonder what purpose, if so?

Edit: If it's for a running light, anyone know of a similar light holder to the original hole, but smaller diameter?
    Maybe other idea(s)?

The additional hole was for US conversion. On cars that were complied correctly, they simply wired a two filament bulb and used the factory single hole set up.
