I don't think I could handle collards that early in the day. But then again, if it was cooked with a ton of bacon, maybe! T
My wife likes to make quiches from time to time. Although sometimes I'm not fully with her on her choice of ingredients... Today's had some celery and the stems from beets that were hanging around the fridge too long, chopped up and sauteed as the filling for a quiche... Somewhat surprisingly, with her homemade buttery crust and the yummy feta cheese we added and farm eggs from down the street, even this quiche was pretty darn yummy. (she likes the crust/dough above the rest, so she took the trimmed edges of the dough/crust and then laid them out flat on top sorta like some folks do on a pie) Image Unavailable, Please Login
You're wife could find a dried cow turd and figure out a way to make it edible. She makes great stuff!
I had a funny one today. We got burgers last night and couldn't finish one of them. This morning I cut up the beef and rolled it into an egg wrap with some cheese. It was damn good. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I dont know why I wanted to try this. Omelette rolled into a tortilla. Quite enjoyed it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes, thank you for asking. Took until February to get her here (and suing and wining a judges order against the dept of state to get her visa), but we are finally together again.
Just amazing what it takes sometimes. So glad for you two. Yet we’re gonna need some breakfast pics from your griddle from a chilly Wyoming morning. Lots of eggs, sausage, wagyu sides, bacon, toast, etc.
One of my all time favorite breakfasts; chili relleno stuffed with ground beef, potatoes and spices. Served with fried eggs and tortillas. Yummy! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wife made some egg burritos and topped mine with a bit too much of that Apple Ghost pepper sauce. Wow! Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks great! Image Unavailable, Please Login Tried Kroger pasture raised eggs today for the first time. Nice bright orange yolks. I did them via my usual basting technique. Top notch job. You should try chile de arbol salsa. May not be hot enough for your taste buds, but it's got good flavor. T
love that orangey color! The farm eggs here are yellow still...chickens can't free range outside in winter...in the next month or two they will be out and about and starting making me some nice orangey yolks...can't wait!
I thought you might like those. Never tried free range eggs before, but we had a coupon, so they may end up on the missus' permanent rotation...T
I spent a few weeks recently in the South. The breakfasts were heaven. Does anyone know how to make pancakes that are crispy on the edges? Never had that before and now breakfast is boring.
Butter usually does it although thinking about it I think I’ve gotten more of that effect from oil and even bacon fat on the shared griddle.
I'll try the bacon fat. Seems that the whole side would get crispy and not just the edge but maybe a timing thing. Getting hungry!
Surprised my new wife on our "anniversary" this morning with her favorite breakfast (we celebrate the day that fate brought us together in Amalfi 9 years ago...we married 3 months ago...will be interesting to see if we also celebrate that wedding anniversary date in the future): Image Unavailable, Please Login
