Can anybody confirm the color of the number background? It looks silver/light blue here, and I have got a decal sheet from a German manufacturer which does look pretty well apart from the license plates being much too small (could go for 1/43 scale) - but with red numbers on yellow background - see pics: is that correct? Hard to find but it might be worth tracking down - https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/new-carrera-panamericana-1953-book-the-lancia-race
I would like historic pictures of this 735 S Monza s/n 0428M #2 Carrera Panamericana 1954. Do you know what is written on the door (Piloto Alfonso de Portago)? Thank you. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry and thanks for the correction so I don't make the mistake when I make the decal sheet in 1/24th and 1/12th scale.

I still plan on running LCP, just trying to find a car and co-driver. Life got away from me the last few times I considered it.

My promised Scale Designs Cartograf printed 1/24th VW Pan Am 1954 and Jaguar XK120 Pan Am 1952 sheet is back from printing in Italy. They look superb and will be on sale soon. I want to note that UMI creator Mike Quarterman is seriously ill and in the hospital. He did the artwork for so many decal sheets including this Pan am sheet. Our prayers are with him for a full recovery!!

An fchatter or two have done LCP, and I was recently talking to someone about building me a car and being my crew chief for a run at it. I just missed a fantastic one when the price was cut. I was on the phone trying to find a place to store it when it was sold before I could get it. https://www.automotiverestorations.com/1954-volvo-444-carrera
Hi, I think that car is from the historical Le Carrera revival races. The above Lancia B20 and this thread are for the 1950-1954 Carrera Pan Americana. No Volvo's ran in the original event, although it looks like a nice car.
No, for sure it is a revival car, but certainly would have been a competitor in the period. I too am collecting memorabilia, but I also want to do something and shared it. I figure building a little shrine in the garage with some bits and scale models along with my car help me keep it alive. I am trying to see about getting images and printing on metal, and if I find car parts, i'd incorporate them. Revivals are keeping the spirits of LCP, MM, Monte Carlo Rallye and Targa Florio from fading to obscurity and folks like us are sadly the last to speak to actual participants and when we are gone, these are nothing more than a plaque in an auto museum and fourth hand stories that have lost meaning.
Hi I agre with all yours words.I'm 74 and I was so lucky too see the last Mille Miglia event. I'm a Ferrari fan and I collect all pics and info I can about the races. Nobody will know (when we are all gone) that the Street speed record from the Carrera was still alive or things like that...I'm so sorry.....
I have done the LCP 10 times since 2000, the last in 2017. 6 as co-piloto and 4 as Piloto. Took 5th overall in 2005. Glad to answer any questions you have Sent from my SM-G975U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
