That's why the only complications on my daily watch are hours and minutes. Makes life much easier and even in the pandemic I never forgot the current month - only a few times where I wasn't able to guess the right day
This thread is giving me serious watch envy. I'm not much of a watch guy, but I do still own (and wear) the Gucci 2000M my wife bought me over 25 years ago. The pic is bad, the watch is in great shape and although quartz, has an ETA movement, which I didn't realize. I found the watch recently and brought it "back to life". Wearing it has stoked my interest in watches, although my budget is FAR lower than many here. I'm more of an Orient Bambino - or maybe even a Hamilton Khaki - type. While I love the idea of a well crafted watch, it's just out of my range. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Nice! Funny thing is, I really liked the variant with the Roman numerals on it, but since my wife purchased this before we were married, it's special. I found a picture of us from around 1995 (so 26 years ago) where I am wearing the watch. When I had it repaired, I was worried the movement was gone. There was an impact from the battery (it was stored away for over 20 years), but the guy was able to clean it and it works great. I have since found replacement ETA movements should I need them, but I'm not too worried. What's awesome is that I always like watches from a fashion perspective, but never really got into them. Now, as a 52 year old, successful person, I'm really drawn by them. Some of these watches are like art, and I'm looking to buy more. Again, my budget isn't anything like what's being shown here, but a nice Hamilton, Seiko, or Tissot would be fantastic. I really love the Corniche Heritage Chrono too...a little pricey for me, but to my eyes it's stunning. Hope you find your watch!
