Ahh yes ... the 5524g ... Calatrava Pilot Travel Time ... on the plus side it doesn’t look like a Patek ... on the minus side it doesn’t look like a Patek!

Beautiful watch but too small for me. 42 is ideal for me. I’m pushing it with 41mm for the 5270. This is why I’ve never bought a 5970 cause it’s an epic watch but too small foe my wrist.

My 5524 is one of my all time favorites. I know it doesn’t so as well on resale relative to other Pateks but mark my words/. They are going to discontinue this watch the the price is gonna go through the roof. It’s so gorgeous and versatile. I have multiple straps.

Blue, imo, better suited for dress down or up, easier to go from casual to formal. Nothing wrong with the black, just find the blue more versatile.

So when I got mine, I got 3 of them. Blue for me. 2 blacks foe my business partners. I’ve worn both, I’ve seen both. To me the blue is more versatile. You can dress it down for daytime wear and dress it up for formal wear. I prefer the blue but really you need to try them both.

I have ordered a blue face 5905p and have requested a platinum fold-over clasp instead of the standard prong buckle. Should be a nice daily wearer.

I agree, if I was ordering one 5270 that wouldn’t be my choice either, but because of the now fashionable salmon dial and the smaller number in which it is likely being ordered, I still think it is the most collectible.

Congrats! I just sold mine. Lol. It’s a beautiful piece but I wasn’t wearing it much and applied the funds to my incoming 5270p

So I made the decision a while ago to ignore what is and is not poplular and collectible and just go with what I like.

A few years back you will remember the nautilus 40th edition. They were larger- 44mm. I loved it. And yet I started reading the reviews- it’s too large, the diamond markers suck blah blah blah. Listening to the herd mentality- I passed.

What a mistake it was - not only cause they have sky rocketed but I truly love the bigger size in that watch.

In retrospect- all the people bitching and moaning were ones would couldn’t even afford the watch and yet they were the most vocal.

I should have gone with my gut and bought it. So same thing with the 5270j. To me the yellow gold is classic and iconic and I can’t wait to get it.

Anyone know when the new models are being released for Patek? Thought it was first week of April.

They're starting the release tomorrow. Not sure if they'll be all at once or gradually.

Forum chats are thinking they'll drop an updated/new Calatrava model?
