I was trying to fit the new 575m wheels today. Have some questions about the lug bolts. I haven't decided on which lug bolts to use. I sold my only set of wheels with bolts to a nice fchatter.

So, I used 52mm bolts from a friend to test fit. They have 5.5 turns of engagement until tighten. On a closer inspection. The bolts have 10 turns of threads. But the thickness of the brake rotor reduced half of the engagement. And there are only 6 turns of threads on the hub itself.
    Please see the photos.

Are 5.5 turns safe to secure the wheel? If not, will 456 bolts(55mm) a better choice? If you have a chance, Could you count how many turns of your 456/550/575 lug bolt to tighten your wheel?

52 mm is stock 575M bolt size that also fits 456/550 and a bunch of V8s.

My car didn't come with stock wheels. and has upgraded brakes.
Does anyone know the stock rotor hat and aftermarket Brembo Rotor hat share the same thickness?

456 bolts will provide an additional 3mm of engagement.
I am borrowing my friend's 52mm bolts to test fit. So I can find out what bolt length to use.

I have a set of 575M 52mm lugs in San Diego. If you're interested, shoot me a message.

The one in the photo is a 52mm bolt from my friend. Has only 5.5 turns to tighten.

Thanks for the photos. Wondering why would Ferrari reduce the bolt length by 3mm for 550/575.

The original 456GT rotors are different... I have the originals on my 1995 and they are not cross drilled and the threads appear to start at the rotor hat face, not embedded below the rotor hat face?

Does it mean longer bolts won't make any difference? Since there are only 6 turns of the threads on the hub for the bolts to thread into. I am thinking sourcing the 456gt 55mm front bolts make sense. as they have 3mm additional threads. vs the 360/550 bolts that are 52mm.

Not sure.... I wonder if your 456 somehow has been retrofitted with 550/575 rotors?

Did more digging today. Took a photo of the back of the hub. With only 5.5 turns. The 52mm bolts actually filled out the holes nicely. Does it mean 5.5 turns is safe?

I think longer bolts won't do me any good. The extra threads will be exposed beyond the hub and will likely hit the parts behind the hub.

I actually have my 456 on the lift now... going to mount the HREs and see how that goes... I'll try and get a similar picture of the OEM set up... but they look fully engaged from a threads perspective!

Careful going too long as when they stick out of the rear, they will contact the dust shield +/- suspension bits.

From the photo in post #12, it looks like you have the correct bolts. I don't have 456 wheels handy, but your bolts mirror what mine look like on all my 575 wheels (OEM 18, OEM 19, Hamann, NF2).
