They could just enforce it at all tracks with those nice white lines they paid for already...............must be hard to see them I think LOL :)

They(FIA) did.....during Qualifying....not so much during the rsce.

Max had the faster car at this track vs the W12 IMO. IF Lewis didn't exceed track limits 29 times, Lewis's tires and 5 to 6 sec time gained by exceeding track limits, Max would have had a better opportunity of overtaking Lewis BEFORE T4

They could end all confusion with one small memo. See the lines, stay between them. Thank you - Have nice day, FIA

I do remember the FIA putting kerbs ON TOP OF sensor wires to monitor track limits....like overnight.

    Simple

They have the tech and power to do this. This is an easy improvement to the F1 series.

That is why Horner has been so quiet. Track limits etc not the issue for him. Its what Mercedes forced them into terms of strategy picture in the race. RedBull did not appear to be 'ready' for that or to actually win.

There seems to be something going on in a driver's head that 'makes' them go off course; Martin Brundle was heard to say, more/less 'the track is such that you are almost forced to go off track there'. Huh?

Both of the above are exaggerations:

Lewis put on a superlative drive that came up a bit better than expected.
Max put on a superlative drive that came up a bit worse than expected.
We were all treated to a great battle.

Max knows how to play that (remember the move on Charles at the Red Bull Ring in 2019?)

Why is Red Bull’s pit strategy not being discussed as part of the problem for Max? I thought they were completely out-foxed.

So Bottas got the fastest lap and an extra point....right? So exceeding track limits to get that fastest lap and extra point at T4 counts then???

They should put a shallow gutter full of water just outside the curb.

Or a sand trap. That'd punish their tires for more corners than a little water.

    All the best,

A 2m wide strip of artificial grass beyond the kerb could be fitted very cheaply.

It would offer hardly any grip and wouldn't so inviting to the drivers.

At the moment, the tarmac surface in the runoff areas is too much of a temptation.

    Madness.

What did Toto say? "once the other teams see what we've got on our car they all want it"? It's a bought and paid for Stewards team isn't it :p:p

And add 2s per lap per infraction for any reason. Running off would become counterproductive very quickly.

I wouldn't like to see time penalties applied to the results at the end of the race.

But here is a solution the FIA could examine:

"This year Moto GP added extra loops to each of its tracks which riders must use when instructed by the stewards. These 'long lap penalties' add several seconds to a lap and are a useful way for the stewards to impose a minor penalty which might cost the rider a single position."
