My prediction SF goes Trey Lance. Wont make mistake with another Ohio St QB.
Name ONE QB that Ohio State has turned out to be great in the pros (you can't) https://www.ranker.com/list/best-ohio-state-buckeyes-quarterbacks/ranker-college-football
And when you look at 'Ranker' for the best QB's at Michigan, they have - you guessed it - Brady #1. That's messed up because he was not even top-10 when AT Michigan, they seem to be judging by his Pro success.
Mel Kiper comparing Mac Jones to TB12 lmao. No way Shanahan gives up 3 first rounders for a QB5. Gotta be Lance or Fields. What is telling is NYJ likely to go Wilson since Im sure SF approached them about dealing #2 pick. His Pro Day yesterday was tits. https://sports.yahoo.com/thats-throw-pro-day-season-175558951.html So Darnold out. Dolphins still get Chase, Smith or Pitts and roll with Tua. Eagles get leftover WR's maybe Waddle and roll with Hurts.
That's true for the Florida Gators as well. We've had all-stars at every other position, but not at quarterback. John Reaves and Rex Grossman hung around the longest, but even Steve Spurrier was a dud in the NFL.
So 1 preseason game now turned into a regular season for 2021. 3 preseason and 17 regular now. No increase in player salary. Why did the NFLPA agree to this? More injuries now for same pay..
Steve Spurrier, LMFAO. I remember watching him coach the plowboys. One of the best games I ever watched was seeing him lose on home court. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
And yet again I say, nobody knew TB12 was going to be as productive as he is/was, so I still think they are rating him on his NFL success, because in college, nobody ever heard of him.
Most successful NFL quarterbacks by Super Bowl wins seem to come from small schools nowadays at least if you subtract out Brady who as said was not big in college anyway. Purdue, Tennessee, Delaware, Northern Iowa, Fresno State, FSU, Wisconsin, Arizona, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Miami (OH), Cal...since 2000 those are Super Bowl winning QB schools minus UM and Tom Brady.
Many of those are NOT "small schools" - some have over 50,000 students! Wisconsin is one of the largest universities in the U.S.
Sorry I didn't mean small as in just undergraduate body size. Small name programs...not ones that win championships year in and year out and you'd think that would translate to the pros. USC, UMiami, FSU, Alabama, etc, underrepresented in those names given their college talent and success in same timeframe. Same for LSU and UF.

( I mean recently)

Jets all in on Wilson, trade Darnold for 3 picks. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/jets/2021/04/05/new-york-jets-trade-sam-darnold-carolina-panthers-pick-package/7097077002/
I don't follow college football, so I don't know this guy, but getting drafted by the Jets? That's brutal. He probably wishes he stunk it up a tad more at the combine! T
Wilson had an impressive pro day the other week. Consensus QB2 behind Lawrence. High ceiling but still work in progress which means Jets are again throwing a 1st round QB to the wolves. Rookie HC and OC, no returning 1000 yd WR/RB's and biggest free agent offensive signings include Corey Davis and Tevin Coleman. Wilson is praying he slips to #3 pick and goes to the Niners
darnold will be a decent backup qb. nice guy with possible potential ruined by jets. i feel bad for wilson if goes to jets. looked at recent jet draft history and incredibly horrible. no 1st pick still with team over past decade. can throw darts at draft board and do better.
Jamal Adams was/is a franchise DB and the Jets traded him. I imagine Carolina gave up 3 picks including a 2nd rounder under the assumption Darnold will be the starter. I doubt Carolina picks up Darnold's 5th year option for 2022 unless they plan on him being QB1. Bridgewater did underperform last season although his career has been plagued by injuries. He's shown he can win when healthy with offensive playmakers. Losing McCaffery was devastating for his first year in a new offense.
