What size are the wheels?

 

Fronts – 20x9 et40; 245/35-20
Rears – 21x12 et50; 355/25-21

You may want to go with a less aggressive offset in front to prevent the possibility of rubbing should you decide to go this route. I did this purely for the way it looks as this is not a performance mod.

Ah ... typo. My wheels are actually 21/22:

Fronts – 21x9 et40; 255/35-21
Rears – 22x12 et50; 335/25-22

Apologies for any confusion. I've said in previous threads that if I had to do it all over again I probably would have gone 20/21 in order to reduce the impact I'm about to describe in the following paragraph.

Due to the shorter sidewall, the ride will be slightly more firm. Additionally, the larger tires are heavier. This setup does add understeer to the cars driving dynamics. One benefit is that the car does feel more stable/planted and less twitchy. If you enjoy the rear-end getting loose then this configuration may make you lose a little bit of that. If you plan to track the car this is not the setup as it is not optimized for performance. This car has been optimized for looks. I personally don't mind the slight degradation in performance. I'm still able to enjoy very spirited drives without issue.

Even the Ferrari P/80C one-off (built by Ferrari’s Special Projects division) runs 21/22 as its concourse/car show mode. For the track, it runs 18s.

Can you give any specs on your lift? How high is your ceiling, etc.? It would be a great solution for me, but I worry my ceiling is just not high enough and has sprinklers, lights, etc.

Sure. The ceiling height is 10’ 1”. I had the garage door company come out and refit the door with a “high-lift” kit. Basically they change out the standard ceiling mount opener with a side mount and replace the tracks to allow the door to go higher. I did have to remove the two light bulbs that the door would have hit but the new opener comes with a flat mounted light. The lift itself is the Challenger CL7 which is designed for shorter ceilings. It is NOT bolted to the floor but comes with special castors that work as fulcrums when the lift is down (and no cars on it) to move the lift around the garage with ease. Lift cost about $5,675 installed and the garage refit was about $1,450.
