Yup, we call it the dog beach, it's the only beach in Miami where you're allowed to take your dogs freely anytime. We take our French Bulldog Winston all the time, he loves dragging fallen coconuts around the beach.

My wife and I were actually just at Prime One Twelve a couple of weeks ago, the Ribeye there is beyond amazing. We lived in NY the past 5 years and went to almost all the famous steakhouses up there, IMO Prime One Twelve is equally good if not better than all of them. It would be very nice to park the 550 right outside and sit on the front patio with a cool breeze, I'm just partially terrified of taking the car to south beach and parking on the street.

Those are some really nice boats! Never been in a turbo powered engine. I'm not a big boater but a couple of good friends are. One of them just got a new 40ft. Contender, beautifully built but crazy expensive!

Thanks for posting these, Nicolas. I love the 456M but I'm going to have to stare at those pics to decide whether Giallo is her color. Looks good in the side view but it strikes me as a bit bright on that 3/4 rear view.

I will be on the first flight when things open up again. Winston for president! How is the AC in the 550 doing in south Florida? I find mine ok, but not outstanding like on my Jag. No engine overheating in traffic? Mine had problems with that until I did some modifications.

Brett- Yellow calipers were an OEM option, but mine has 396/362 mm Mov'It ceramics on her.

Yup- Quite a bit more pad area than HGTC CCMs (398/360 mm) and much, much tougher rotors from better transforms.

    Terry,

I am interested in the ceramic brake upgrade you have.

Does your brake upgrade use the OEM calipers, master cylinder and brake lines or were all upgraded?

    Thanks

Anthony- Definitely not, there are new 6 piston calipers in front and 4 piston calipers in the rear. Master cylinder is stock and HGTC 575Ms used the same master cylinder as all the 575Ms. Mov'It supplied new SS wrapped brake lines with plastic sheaths. Total cost was around $20K.

@tazandjan Do you happen to know if the 575's optional CC rotors are a simple direct swap into a 550? Or regardless of what CC rotors you get you would need to replace the calipers as well? I was curious if there's any simple steel to CC rotors and pads for the 550 without needing to replace anything else.

Yep. Question is whether that is a great color on the 456 bodystyle. Some views are fine, some are a bit jarring for me. But I'm a TdF kind of guy.

Richel- Ferrari CCMs were made in two sizes early on, the 380/350 mm sets for the CS/F430/612 and the 398/360 mm sets for the HGTC 575M and the 599. None of these rotors will fit standard Ferrari calipers, since the fronts had 6 piston calipers and the rears 4 piston ones, much larger than standard steel brakes.

The 380/350 mm CCMs and calipers might fit a 550 with 18" wheels, but likely need 19" ones like the CS/F430 uses. The 398/360 mm CCMs require 19" wheels, and even the 575M front modulars had to be modified to fit the huge 6 piston calipers and 15.67" rotors. The CS/F430 brakes also do not have separate drum brakes in the rotor, but use a parking brake caliper.

550 and 575M standard brakes are identical except for one rear caliper piston size, and the rotors are 330/310 mm.

Front ceramics and rear steel brakes work fine together. Mine were that way for several years.

Thanks Terry that's very helpful. I don't think I want to spend the time and money to do a full upgrade, but I'll look more into trying to fit something in the front.

Richel, Taz covered the answers for you on the factory CCM rotor conversion. If you have further interest I did the full factory HGTC conversion years back and posted many details in my Fchat album. For some reason the pic quality in the album has been reduced over the years. Here is a link to some details,
