After about 2.5 years of looking everyday (the last year very seriously) I found a F12 that fit the bill (or close enough) and it arrived last week.

A very special thanks to Fchat member 66ss427 who drove an hour and a half to check out the car for me. I wouldn't have bought it without his help.

I posted "baby" pictures right after the delivery (with driver pictured, not me!) and then a drive in the mountains that I immediately took it on. Then pictures back home after I cleaned it up. I have since swapped the near plastic Pzeros for Michelins P4s.

I only have about 2 hours of seat time so I'll have to post a more thorough review later (although such reviews have been posted numerous times before). I think the aspect that jumps out at me most is how great it is to drive around town. It's really a car you could spend a lot of time in. I have never had a front mid engine car so looking out over the hood takes some getting used to as does the way the car rotates when it turns.

The F12 is quite the machine and I am impressed about how precise and refined it is. I have assaulted an on ramp or two for the obligatory right pedal mash down and yes the power is nuts as is the howl of the F12.

Thanks to the forum and the wealth of information (I would not want to get in the Fcar game without this forum!) and again special thanks to 66ss427 for going out of his way to help me.

If you can dream it you can do it!

    Jesse

That's exactly what I've tried to describe in those other threads between the 458/488 vs F12. The polar center of the car is noticeably more forward.

Congrats again. I went out for a quick zip last night and I'll add to keep an eye on your TPMS screen for tire temperature. It seems that on a cool day, over about 90ºF tire temp is when you start to get real traction you can trust. Even better over 110º. Last summer I saw tire temps in the mid-high 160s.

I must have had that in my mind from reading your post. I see what you mean about the rotation. Thank you for the tip on tire temperature. I have read how the rear likes to break traction so I took it very easy on my two long drives so far.

Have u experienced your f12 snapping from the back with cold tyres?
The one thing I always struggle is to know when and what are the limits. When do you know you are there?

    Hey Jesse,
Congratulations on your new prize !
It was absolutely my pleasure to be able to help out. I’m glad I didn’t miss anything I’d have been a wreck !!! Other than the extra HP, I was amazed at the carbon fiber brakes. WOW, they’re amazing.
Best of luck and move that refrigerator !!! LOL

Yes, but I will say mine shimmies/fishtails in a predictable pattern that I've learned to manage - don't be too stabby on the throttle and keep the nose on target, and the traction control does the rest. I would say in Race the tail steps out about 20º on a slide but in ~9k miles I haven't come close to spinning the car.

What is totally noticeable is how when the tires are warm they bite immediately and together, and the car launches with more immediacy. Also, the brakes stop squealing.

Congratulations! She’s a beauty! Use the modes as they are well calibrated and this way you can work your way up to learning the car.

Congrats! The car looks mint! Once you feel the F12 pulling through the gears, you're never the same!

    I have a Rosso Corsa F12 also,Damn I love this car.

I’ve had the same experiences early on with the cold tire fishtailing. You learn pretty quick to control it. I do keep it in sport mode when I leave the garage. I live in Los Angeles, so we don’t get extreme cold, but even when the air temp is in the low 60’s I just know to be careful.

Other than that, Congratulations . If you love yours as much as I love mine, you will be a happy person.
