    There were nowhere near 2000 US 550s. Total production was only 3083 and US share has typically been around 28% for this era Ferrari, so around 800-900. We might even have the total number somewhere in here.

    From all my historical digging and researching...on my notes I had the following which is also close to the stats you guys called out above.

    @niftyfivefifty your 2001 and then color combo plays to @NE550 comment earlier in that it’s not hard to get one of ones with such low production numbers.

    It would be neat to know (as an example) for 2001 of all colors how many were heavily optioned (shields/Daytona’s/leather shelf/headliner/carbon/modulars)....could easily be just a tiny handful. The valuation/data-nerd in me wants a full spreadsheet for analysis ;-)

    550 numbers 3080 total
    USA total = 940?
    1997 = 102
    1998 = 173
    1999 = 259
    2000 = 269
    2001 = 137

    575 numbers 2064 total
    USA total = 580?
    2002 = 208
    2003 = 167
    2004 = 127
    2005 = 78
    First US = 126969
    Last US = 141817

    Eric, Jonathan- Those numbers in Eric's post are US only and do not include Canadian A spec Maranellos.

    Indeed Taz. So in theory that means approximately 54 Canadian 550s. I've no idea how big the Canadian market is to know if that's in the right ball park or not.

    Jonathan- Me, either, but that sounds about right. Canada has about 11% of the US population, so considering the weather differences, I would expect there would be proportionally fewer Ferraris in Canada.

    There were also very few full fledged Ferrari dealers back then up here.

    They were sold through other dealers that just also so happened to sell Ferrari's. At least that's how it was in Vancouver.

    I didn't see did you have the vin or the last 6 to help anyone on the search?

    I believe in the US there were only 16 "gold" Grigio Ingrid 550's.

    I once saw a brown 550, in central London. This would have been back in the late 90's or early 00's so it would have been relatively new at the time. I drove up behind it and thought it was beautiful. It stood out even more as it had a two digit number plate, X1 or 1X - something like that. It was Marrone Metallizzato or similar.

    Thinking back now I wonder if it was a Brunei car as he kept a few in London and seemed to have a liking of low digit "X" number plates.

    It really suited the car.

    I know it only in the sense that I was at Brooklands when that picture was taken and had a brief chat with the owner. I like the Grigio Ingrid but it has a blue interior which is a bit of a funny combination. I'm pretty sure it is the only UK car in Grigio Ingrid although I know of a number of Euro and US cars.

    I've never come across any brown 550s and I'm fairly sure there weren't any UK cars delivered in brown. But you're right that it could have been a Brunei car. Although some of their cars were ordered via the UK I think some were through Hong Kong and maybe elsewhere. Also, Pininfarina and others did things to a lot of them including colour and trim changes.

    Interesting! The photo shows the car as RHD and the DVLA has it being first registered in March 1999. If it’s got a blue interior, then I guess it can’t be one of the two on that list.

    @Crocodon Also don't forget that Nathan's book registry is AMAZING but its not always perfect and it is possible some are not accounted for.....those are just the ones i saw and were in there to the best of my knowledge.

    It could be 114317 and the book shows it wrong as Euro when it is actually UK.....that would make sense. I went back and looked at that specific car and there were no other notes or comments but I guess it does show LHD for that specific one. The blue interior has to be crazy rare so maybe not in the book or it was entered incorrectly.

    Here we go! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-ferrari-550-maranello-13/

    It looks like a well maintained driver’s car that could be Concours ready with some minor details. That is an interesting mid-pipe, and it looks like something fabricated by a muffler shop. I think a leather restoration and repaint of the valve covers/intake manifold would be a good next step.

    I love the chrome fire extinguisher. Has anyone seen that option on other cars before? Mine is traditional red, but wrapped in leather matching the seats.

    The registry in Nathan's book came (with permission, of course) from F-Register and not from Factory sources or anything like that. The Grigio Ingrid/Blue car is not in that list. I can tell you the chassis number if you are desperate to know it. It was supplied new by Lancaster Colchester and has had four owners with the current owner having acquired it in 2007.

    Of the two UK cars mentioned in the list above, one is a Euro LHD car and the other is a UK RHD car but is Nero Daytona with black interior (seen and photographed by myself on several occasions including at Blenheim Palace last September), never Grigio Ingrid.
