It seems that ordering painted shields with your GTS may delay your production slot a little.
So happy we spec’d them on the 812. The fender space is too large for the enameled shields, imho. The $14,000 cost is a bit nutso but so are most Ferrari options, e.g. over $5K for Apple Car Play that comes free on most econoboxes. On Traveller’s tdf below, I think the enameled shields fit the space beautifully. It’s all depends on the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Curious has anyone ever changed the emblem shields to painted shields? Would dealer do this? Cost? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My car is in the background with regular shields. You can see how much bigger the painted shield is on the Pista Spider Image Unavailable, Please Login
Probably the best way to make the change is buy new fender panels, have them painted to match and also the shields painted on. Keep the originals. Then if you ever go to sell the car, putting it back to original wouldnt be impossible. This is pretty expensive and likely you will get many comments saying- why not just trade the car. However, I could see if it you loved this specific car and planned to keep it forever. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Well I definitely prefer the enamel shields on the V8 models. Just not enough space for the painted shields, they look out of place (literally!) I agree that on the 812, it's the way to go, although the cost is absolutely insane. Quite a bold configuration on that Pista spider by the way...
Airbrushed using a series of printed stencils. If enough of them get ordered they would likely start using an embedded print or even get a machine to do it.
I posted a link to this video in this forum some time ago: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/147786593/
I would only want them if every badge was hand painted To have the shields only? Seems like people are itchy to spend money
Gentlemen, anyone knows more about the significance of the painted shields? Someone told me they where first used in the sixties on road cars participating in races. I’m considering them for my GTS but wanted to understand the history and relevance to my order specifications. Going with a traditional Tour de France blue over beige tradizione, no carbon , very classical elegant GT look. thanks
Your spec is awesome. I love the matching silver hub caps to the wheels, great little detail. Wouldn't have done it much different myself!
if you have painted shields and damage your fender, how is it fixed if its hand painted at the factory? same thing puzzles me with the rolls royce coach line.
