Brother and nephew are catching the 5:15pm ferry. It arrives here at 7:15 pm. Brother says its too late to get dinner after I pick them up. The ferry terminal I'm picking them up at, is in my hometown. The I'll get lasagna at my favorite Greek/Italian restaurant. Been going to this restaurant since 1978, pure nostalgia. Although its the owners son running it now, its the same.

What an evening, got to dine at Commanders Palace in the Garden District of New Orleans this evening. Started with the "Three Little Pigs Tamale" made with 16hr smoked pork shoulder, pork boudin and crispy pork belly, then on to Duck three ways with a cold smoked breast, swiss chard and duck confit risotto, and a foie gras jus, then a pecan pie a la mode. To make it even better, Joan Breaux was celebrating her 94th birthday tonight and we got to say hello and wish her a happy one. Fans of the New Orleans Saints may know her as the woman who hasnt missed a game in FIFTY YEARS. My life is weird y'all.
